What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Never stop exploring.... Always be on the lookout for something that will make this image stand out and be something special. Is it an amazing location? How can I shoot it so it is unique to my vision? When shooting people I always try to keep it looking as natural and unstaged as possible. You want to show someone in their best light but do so in a way that feels natural and not forced.
What's the secret? Hire me and I'll show you! :-) I've been doing this over 20 years and have lots of repeat customers.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Tell me about your project. What is it you would like to create? Is it a product you are advertising? Is it a portrait? What will this be used for? Are you looking for digital files or do you need prints? Give me a call and let's chat!
What do you love most about your job?
I love that it is always different. One day I might be running a large commercial production with over 30 people and the next I could be on a boat crashing through 25 foot seas with the coast guard in Washington. See my blog for that story. http://blog.petebarrett.com/?p=2242

What inspired you to start your own business?
My main business is advertising Photography and I have been in that business for over 20 years. I can think of nothing else I'd rather be doing.
