recently moved from orange county, and you cannot beat the Vietnamese food over there. However, this place isn't too bad. been here twice, and got similar items both items .The review if only for the banh mi and the churros. I've tried the traditional banh mi (order #1) and the piggy piggy (order #2) sandwiches. Both were really tasty and i recommend getting them if this is your first time here. Also, the churros were such a delight. Surprising to see a viet place selling cream churros, but don't sleep on it. order a few, and i promise you won't be disappointed. (better if they're fresh baked... but i think both times i got the churros, they were kinda stale, but still delicious!)They also sell other items such as pho and Vermicelli dishes. This is our go to for banh mi and cafe sua da. Wait time is a bit long, but staff is always helpful and friendly. Decided to give this place one last chance, and believe me, I won't be back. My wife take out ordered the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Bowl, and I ordered the Veggie Pho. I'll start with the Veggie Pho. It is served as broth with a plastic bag of veggies on the side. Problem: the only veggies were onion, jalapeños, bean sprouts, basil. There were no carrots, celery, corn, bell pepper, mushroom, tomato, or any other vegetable. How can they possibly call it vegetable pho? Next, my wife opens her box and there is no chicken, I mean, zero, so she has to make a return trip. She expected the vermicelli to be served hot, but it was served as a cold glomp with no broth or sauce. Huge disappointment for a place that started well. A little disappointed. I ordered the veggie pho soup to be delivered. I paid for extra veggies. I'm not sure what they consider veggie pho but there were no veggies. I was so sad that my banh mi was NOT toasted even though I had specifically requested for it to be toasted. The fillings and condiments were also lackluster. Usually restaurants will pile the vegetables/sauces on the banh mi. Jalapeño peppers were also missing from all my banh mis but maybe I had to specifically request it. I usually Ike this place a lot. Tonight was a HUGE disappointment! My wife ordered the BMV Happy Bowl ($14),I ordered my first Banhn Mi sandwich, the Bang Bang Chicken with extra veggies and 2 slices of bacon. ($8.25) The sandwich was loaded with fresh veggies, for some reason, no jalapeños or pickles. The bacon I paid extra for wasn't there, either. Unfortunately, what I thought might be the redeeming quality, the chicken,was dry and tasteless. My wife's dish was presented without any type of sauce. It consisted of thin pieces of meat cooked to almost jerky consistency. The shrimp included was way over cooked, tough and rubbery. Totally unacceptable! We also ordered 8 egg rolls. They were served with about 2 tbl spoons peanut sauce and a tsp of hot sauce. Unfortunately, by the time we sat down to eat they were closed, or I surely would have returned the entire order! I have been coming to this place since it first opened. Even refer family, friends, and co-workers. I have to say it has slowly degraded in value. I understand inflation has everything going up and everyone is trying to survive during this period. But what I don't get is the quality/portion of the food has gotten smaller. Which is unfair. If you are going to charge more then at least keep the quality/portion the same. Compare to other banh mi places this place is slightly more expensive and of lower quality. I'm disappointed. We've been buying sandwiches here since they opened a few years ago. The quality of their food have definitely gone downhill which is so disappointing. Their bread used to be crispy and chewy but is now soft and basic--very similar to bread used in sub sandwiches at a deli shop. Also, the amount of meat they put into the sandwiches has basically been cut in half, while the prices have increased. My small 10 year old was still hungry after finishing his usual sandwich--a few months ago, 1/2 a sandwich would be enough to fill him up. I ordered the Eye of Round Pho, Happy Plate, and Double Trouble Summer Roll for delivery via UberEats.I wasn't too impressed with the Happy Plate or the Double Trouble Summer Rolls. The Happy Plate meat was a bit dry and the DTSR had hard boiled egg in them, which I didn't like.The Pho, however, was a completely different story. The broth, noodle, meat, bean sprouts, herbs, lime, sliced jalapeno, hoisin sauce, and chili paste all arrived separately and fresh. This place has shady prices. I used to be a regular customer but no more. I have tried multiple times to order their banh mi in bulk. .. buy x amount get a banh mi free. Sounds straight forward enough until you realize on the receipt they nickel and dime you on the free banh mi. I called them out on the math but the male manager and check out girl made up the excuse they raised their price and going off topic that I ordered a lot. Made no "cents." By the way, the said raised price was inconsistent with the marketed online and the menu written on their wall. Now forget about their useless app coupon unless you order 1 item and fight for it. The customer service is awful. The check out girls roll their eyes whenever a customer walks in as if they don't want to be there helping out the family business and give the customer an attitude. On a final note, I walked into the restaurant to make an early lunch order for my office 5 minutes before open time. The girl behind the counter asked me to leave and wait in my car. This is one type of sandwich that leaves me in a conundrum....I don't like nearly anything on the sandwich, but somehow when everything is together, it is nothing short of amazing. Also the price is outstanding.This time I tried the bang bang chicken banh mi and it was really good, though think I prefer the pork.  It has cilantro, carrots, cucumbers, and jalapenos... All fresh and I can't stand any of those except jalapenos, but finished every bite because it's an amazing sandwich.I also got a small order of egg rolls (come in 2 piece or 4 piece), and the Bavarian creme churro (which is very weird from a Vietnamese place, but I wanted something for dessert).  The egg rolls are pretty good, albeit possibly over fried since we extra flaky and hard, but still very good.  The churro was nothing special and could have easily avoided getting that, but now I know.The price for this very tasty lunch? This is our favorite place for banh mi sandwiches. I usually get either the lemongrass (Meat Lovers) or the BBQ pork (Hog Heaven), my kids always get the traditional and the Bang Bang Chicken and eye round steak pho.
