Azalina's is The Best in every single way! First and foremost, the food is Excellent and prepared quickly. Second, the menu covers a lot for being not that large. My company had a catered lunch from here, and honestly, I still dream about it. I don't even know what it was, other than the best thing I' ve ever tasted. There were meatballs and noodles and this broth that was so delicious I was tempted to just get a refill of that and drink it all day at my desk. If I could get their food delivered to my house, I'd order ever single week! (I'm in Pittsburg if you ever want to expand to a second location) More...

Very good Malaysian food restaurant. I'm sad to know that this restaurant will close on 01/29 and be relocated. My favorite was Hokien Mee, which is noodle with very strong taste sauce though it' s little salty. Hope I can go to newly relocated place. More...

Great food and great customer service.  The two guys at the front were helpful in recommending options and super nice overall! I got the hokkien mee, while it was good it was way too sweet for me personally, but maybe that's how the dish is supposed to be.I have to say they were generous w the shrimp and I found 10-12 small shrimp in the dish so not bad for a $14.00 dinner, in SF at that More...

What a different experience in one of the best food experiences possible! Every bite, every sip, met my palate, taste buds and tongue with a deliciously diverse mix of natural ingredients! Three words: MAMAK FRIED CHICKEN. My family and I ordered this and every thing mixed with the chicken perfectly in terms of flavorful taste. The Laksa with turmeric noodle, veggies, and lemongrass broth is one of the best dishes I've ever had the privilege of enjoying.  Next time you're in SF and are near   The Market, go in and enjoy the abundance of healthy foods and go to to Azalina's to try her talent and careful cooking for yourself! After only coming to Azalina's a few times, it has quickly become one of my go-to places in the Market for lunch or dinner. I came here based on a recommendation from a friend (probably wouldn't have come across it otherwise since it's hidden in the corner of the Market), and she told me to try the fried chicken. It was so good (good taste, good texture, good consistency, good temperature, etc.) that I ended up ordering it again the next time I swung by here. It also comes with rice and salad so it's a pretty balanced meal. My bf tried the Laksa noodles since he's had them at work before - he said they were good, but not as good as they are when catered at his office lol. Not sure how authentic it is, admittedly, but it's good so you should try it at least once if you haven't already ;) More...

Mmmm so good, but on the pricey end - but also then again we are in SF. The place is in a sort of public market. Seems like a good place to grab a quick casual meal. Ordered the 7 spice chicken and the nasi lemak to share with my sis. The nasi lemak was amazing (though probably not super authentic.) All them flavors be doing happy dances in my mouth!! The chicken was also really tender and flavorful. All in all, it felt like a balanced meal too since both came with some veg. More...

Love shopping at the Market and before leaving grabbing a warm dinner. The vegan GF tofu pumpkin curry is bomb! You get big pieces of tofu and several slices of pumpkin. If you're watching your carb intake, no worries, there's not a ton of the delicious coconut rice coming in the dish. The 2 different sauces are delicious! I've also gotten dishes with shrimp (you can add them on for an additional cost) they're grilled and so tasty. At Azalina's, the ingredients are fresh, the flavors are unique, the spices subtle. You feel like you're eating healthy and don't see any oil shining in the sauce or anything.I've also met Azalina and she's a sweetie, passionate about her work! Support women owned businesses :-)Lastly, the price: $12 for a warm meal in SF, I think this is a steal. Please don't raise the prices! More...

How have I not written a review for one of my favorites yet?1. Maybe because I want to keep it a secret lol2. Azalina's is literally one of my favorite spots in the city, ever3. I've never had Malaysian food prior to trying Azalina's. Every dish I've tried so far has been amazing. Sure the dishes are on the pricier end, but everything is delicious and made with care - so worth it. I always feel so at home when I'm eating here.4. My top two dishes: roast chicken 7spiced and mamak fried chicken. If you can't decide what to get, start with either of these.5. Hack: so the mamak fried chicken comes with a green sauce drizzled on top. Ask for a little cup of this sauce and drizzle it on everything!! I love it with the roast chicken 7spiced6. Secret: the roast chicken 7spiced has a layer of sliced potatoes hidden between the bed of rice and chicken. These potatoes soak up all the sauce and are some of the best potatoes I've ever had.7. Everything is also made to order so your dishes are always fresh. 8. Chef Azalina recently opened a dine-in restaurant - Mahila, I can't wait to check it out! More...

So far I've only been to Azalina's once -- I was drawn in by the numerous vegan options. I ordered the Pumpkin & Tofu curry and LOVED it. Very flavorful, a great portion, and a really good variety of different textures and vegetables. Looking forward to returning and trying the laksa (AND definitely the banana crack pie -- haven't seen a vegan version of that before!). Thank you for offering vegan options! More...

What..... I was literally speechless after my first bite. My reaction was literally something out of an anime. I had the biggest reaction to the noodles and the rice. On top of that I had never had a proper Malaysian dish before. This was a first and everything was amazing. I want to come back to try EVERYTHING. The only thing is that this is considered to be a lunch spot because it was within like a small little market place. The dessert that I had was the fermented black rice, and OMG I was literally loving it so much. I need to find a place like this in Vancouver soon~!!I heard they opened a restaurant within SF, and I have to go there when I visit again. More...

Had lunch here before a show at SHN and am so, so happy I picked this place at The Market! The Mamak Chicken is AMAZING! I loved all of the rich flavor, balanced out by the salad and rice. So delicious I had to find a recipe so I could try to make it at home. Super friendly staff too! More...

This is the first vendor I checked out in The Market, which is a very San Franciscan type of market with organic items, upscale prices, and hipster vibes. This take-out place serves up Malaysian food that is quite flavorful and up to par with sit-down restaurants. I got the laksa, which has a pretty strong lemongrass flavor, which, according to my friend, makes the dish significant. The ingredients are definitely fresh, but the noodles could be a little chewier. It is also not terribly salty, which makes this a relatively healthy food option. Overall, the dish does not weigh you down and is a comparable option to other restaurants I have tried in the past like Borneo Kalimantan in Alhambra, CA and Kedai Makan in Seattle, WA. More...
