Oh, and did I mention that they work you super hard too! =) If you are looking to get into better shape for 2019 this is your place! More...

This is possibly the nicest personal training studio in town and I’ve been to a lot. It’s clean, bathrooms and locker rooms are the best I’ve seen in a training studio.

I've been using the facilities for about 2 1/2 years. They are friendly without being intrusive. I've used two different trainers. Each has years of experience and listened to my issues. Shannon and Laura have helped me recover from two separate knee replacements! Shannon works with the massage therapist, Ken, to make sure they are both working and healing my body in tandem.Respect is shown to all who enter. The owners make sure that patrons are the ones entering the building. I used the showers for the first time last week. The facility was very clean, the water hot, and the pressure great.Enjoying the experience? More...

Plenty of personal gyms in the Denver region to choose from, but Ascent Fitness is above the rest.  Doug and his staff are some of the best in the Metro Denver area.  In addition to great equipment, the staff is knowledgable, understanding and listen to what your goals are.  You can't go wrong with this gym. Clean facility with showers.  Very accommodating staff.  I purchased five InfraFit sessions as a final push to get beach ready. Obviously I was skeptical going into my first session, but had read a few articles talking about the effectiveness of infrared training. The InfraFit experience is great. The prompts on the screen help you to have a continuous work bike ride.  Which a was great for me to stay focused. I saw a noticeable difference after each session and so did my wife. After the nervousness (what's this do, am I too far away from the petals) of my first session wore off it was a wonderful cathartic experience. More...

Lost, fat and somewhat skeptical I reacted to a Nextdoor post at the beginning of this year advertising Ascent and their offerings.  I had a consultation with Doug and decided to try it hoping that unlike my previous attempts at fitness I might have some success.  And I did.  Over the course of several months I lost about 25 lbs, felt better about myself and was able to get into some clothes I thought I'd never see again.  Everyone at this place, from the customers to the trainers are extremely nice, supportive and knowledgeable.  There is no pretentiousness here, no stuck up roid freaks or 50lb rock wearing hunnies from Cherry Creek looking at you for daring to work out next to them. I had great success with a simple 2 day a week regimen and change and monitoring of my diet.  When I hit a road bump with some personal medical issues, Doug adjusted the training and kept me focused and encouraged.  I really like this place and look forward to going back in 2017. Such a great way to start out the New Year. Starting at Ascent Fitness in January I was able to feel my muscles again. The facility is clean and well organized. I never felt like I was one of many, just a few people so it wasn't intimidating. My trainer Sharayah is amazing, pushing me just enough, but not too far to regret it the next day. The locker room is super clean with a lot of room to change, lockers with locks so I don't have to find mine. Parking has always been plentiful. Ascent Fitness even has a new piece of equipment called the InfraFit machine. Doug has done great things with Ascent Fitness and it's a tremendous assent in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend Ascent Fitness to anyone looking for a little help with personal training or for someone looking for a change in their fitness routine. More...

Doug and Sharayah are motivating trainers who excel at distracting while kicking your butt (thank goodness). It seems like all of the trainers treat everyone like family. You're going to love the community feel of this gym! They have designed as an exclusive, all amenities facility including towel service and cardio equipment complete with iphone chargers, but they have also settled in and become a center point of the local community. Personal training, group fitness and small group training highlight this bright, friendly gym, but they have so much more to offer! Ozlem has probably the most beautiful and serene Pilates studio I have ever seen, and Footprints Yoga has transformed the group fitness room into a Yogi paradise. I have been going to traditional gyms like 24 hour fitness for years but had felt like I was really having to fit my workout around the crowds. I decided to try training for the first time and Ascent was a perfect option because of how convenient it's location is right off of I25. I love the fact that it's a private gym and that there are only 4 or 5 trainers with their clients at a time. NO MORE CROWDS! Doug is my trainer and he's been great at showing me a ton of new exercises and some weight loss strategies that I hadn't been using. So far this place is legit! My wife/business partner and I met with Doug today.  He was incredibly nice and had lots of great info. to tell us about his location.  We have a couple more leads on locations to follow up with, so we are not committed just yet for using this location for Camp Gladiator during the winter.  However, we liked it so much and thought the facilities were so nice that I just felt compelled to write a good review.   For a personal training business, this facility has everything you could want and would accommodate any client.  And the group ex. Room is large enough for about 30 people (which would be tight), but I think would be just fine.  Any trainer using this facility would appear to be very professional just by association. More...

Soooooooo...today, 3/26, was a day filled with warmth...and constant wind...and dust storms...and oh yeah, a giant fire SW of Denver filling the air with smoke and particulate matter, leaving me coughing quite a bit after biking 7 blocks.  Screw that! Time for plan B.  Lock up bike, and hop a bus down to...Ascent Fitness, where owner April S was advertising free (INDOOR!) Zumba fitness classes at 6:30 with Guillermo Reyes.  (Yes, I am proud of myself for getting some calorie burn in on a day where it would have been super easy to tuck tail and go home and eat nachos and watch bad TV).Ascent actually used to be at 4101 E Evans on the NE corner of Evans and Colorado -- don't be fooled, it's not there anymore.  It's on the NE corner of I-25 and Evans now, about 6-7 blocks east.  I got a ride there from someone else who'd shown up at the old address too, very kind of her (ty, Rosa!).Ascent's new location...looks like an iron-pumping dream.  There's weights.  Everywhere.  Free and machines.  I didn't get a visual lock on any exercise bikes or stairclimbers or treadmills, but they're probably there somewhere -- I'll have to look around pre-workout next time.  Guessing it's a great alternative to $24/Hr Fitness or Bally's massive corporately priced structure.Had time to say hi to owner April there, and class was starting.  Guillermo's a machine.  I spoke with him afterwards, and he said he'd only been doing it since October, 5 months prior -- you couldn't tell from the way he'd just flow from 1 set into the next.   I'd never been to a Zumba class before...it looked like "...a mostly chick thing".  Fo sho.  But you can definitely bust out a sweat here.  A little more clarification from Zumba's site: "Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music...and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive."  I could see where people could get hooked on it.  Attendance?  Guillermo the instructor, about 10 other ladies averaging 25-35/40, and me.  (wiggles eyebrows) Iiiiiiiiiiiiii like those odds.  [And apparently a few of them did too, laughing with me and flirting.  Shameless. O:) ]My take on this...is despite "catering to all exercise levels", you should PROBABLY have at least a few weeks of cardio-toning down and/or be able to keep moving for 5-10 mins at a time down cold -- because if you *don't* have that...you're gonna need some extra O2/oxygen.  I was glad I'd been biking 3 weeks solid because while it does focus on whole body movements, arm swinging, patterns and rhythms, it is your LEGS that are gonna carry you through a Zumba workout.  If you don't have that...you're gonna be in trouble getting through a whole class, much less 10 minutes.  Teeny synopsis: I'd call it "low-intermediate" complexity, like a blue ski run with some moguls.  Gotta have the basics down to be able to not wipe out.  That being said, I caught on *fairly* quickly, and I think others would as well -- believe me, if this white boy can get some rhythm going, anyone can. :P Aaaaand lots of Latin music/reggaeton/merengue and salsa.  Yes, it's everything you think it is...NO hip-hop though, thank God.  Who knows, you might just pick up enough moves here to make your (present or future) significant other's eyes to pop out a little if you bust them out.First experience was fun.  I could and likely will be tempted into coming back.  It was Guillermo's 1st class at this location; he also teaches at a trendy location downtown where rich people's lofts are.  April was friendly and welcoming.  I even got approached after class outside by someone who performs Thai Yoga Massage there as a contractor (sure, let your imaginations run wild, kids...).  G is pondering pricing, and was voicing that $100 for 20 classes might be a good starting pt - for an hour of nearly non-stop activity, that sounds like an extremely good price.  And April is often running special freebie activities on Facebook, so, in conclusion:...Check it out. :)  Insert suggestive/motivational "get-fit-and-get-sexier" phrase here, I don't have one at the moment. ;) More...
