I had a wonderful experience with the owner, Debra Sinkage. However I made a stupid mistake and selected a frowny face from the square payment receipt.  Her help with placing an order by phone and creating a theme cake was fabulous.  I wish we lived closer because the cake was delicious and I would order from her all the time. I couldn't  find a way to change the frown to a smile so I will just post positive reviews wherever and whenever I can for the rest of my life.  Thanks Again Debra for helping us make my husbands birthday special!!!! Absolutely the best French toast I've ever had (Grand Marnier French toast). My husband had the 3 cheese omelet and loved every bite of it. We shared an order of the eclair crepes and they were amazing too. We'll only be here for 3 days, but we're thinking of coming back for breakfast tomorrow because it was so amazing today. A hidden gem in the OBX! Came here for brunch about 5 months ago and didn’t disappoint! Then we thought about it after the beach today since we had our pups with us. Super friendly staff and the owner has came to talk to us both times. Our waitress Karen was knowledgable and super sweet. We had the rockfish bites with this amazing pineapple cole slaw, steamed shrimp, the steak flatbread (YUM!) and then topped it off with dessert! Cute little key lime pie cups. I really have mixed reviews here. Their prices would tell you it is a dinner dining restaurant, but once there, it is a very casual place. Meals will run to more than 20 per plate. So where do I start. Sat down and they had live music. Way too loud for a restaurant like this. But asked to be seated away from the music so I could hear myself think. We ordered but took a good 30 to get our food. Now the food was very good. The rosutto was some of the best I tasted. The Daniel seafood plate was very good and filling. The scallops dinner was cooked well, and also filling. But I just can't justify a $120 bill for 3, for the whole eating experience. 2 drinks, 3 meals, no dessert. Music too loud, and waited too long for service. And I had reservations. This one is your choice, but too many places at OBX, that is just as good, and a bit more reasonable. More...

Was one of our best dinners out while in the OBX last two weeks! Friendly smiling staff added a personal touch to the warm and artful atmosphere, appetizers and entries with unique twists, warm baked bread, and homemade salad dressings that say Wow! Don’t miss the desert tray; well worth the calories!Then to find out it’s Debra, the owner in the kitchen crafting this awesome meal, including the sinful deserts. Great family owned place. The owners wife bakes and cooks everything from scratch! He even jumps in and does some cooking himself! Very knowledgeable about gluten! We stopped on our way to the 4X4 area. We walked in with our 4 young children and our teen. I have celiacs and so does one of my young daughters. PJ and Debra are the owners. Their wait staff was knowledgeable about gluten and would always ask if they didn't know if something contained it. Debra was amazing! She made my daughter and I gluten free cupcakes and even a pie! She knew that she had to wash everything down before making our meals. She ended up making my 6 year old hand cut french fries because the ones they usually use have gluten. We ended up going back for breakfast and had gluten free chocolate chip pancakes, omelets, breakfast potatoes and toast! We were so impressed we ordered a catered meal and they meet us right before the 4x4 area with a steam boil, prime rib and gluten free blueberry pie! We will definitely be back to Argyle's! We found this little restaurant while we were heading home, and we are so glad we did. They didn't have fried flounder on the menu but the owner offered to make some because he had some fresh flounder that hadn't been used yet. It was so good! Everything was fresh and tasted homemade. Walked into this beautiful and tastefully decorated joint, was greeted right away by the owner himself, who quickly bussed a table and sat us with amazing hospitality. P.J. made great conversation, joked with the kids, and quickly we felt right at home.We perused the menu, and to our surprise the prices were very fair for a nice restaurant on the island. Let's talk about why this place isn't overflowing it's doors every day. This place should be, as it is that good. You walk in and the owner greets you with a smile and is quick to tell you how proud he is of the restaurant. He literally believes it, and it shows. For more than one reason. One:  breakfast is cooked. To. Perfection. A poached egg can be a disaster, but not here. Get the crab Benedict:  you won't be disappointed. Two:  the place is quite cozy. And quiet. There was a 13-top right next to us and you couldn't tell. Great seating arrangements. Three:  "we are farm to table. Have been for years and years...before it became so feng shui".
