Finally made it.  Been planning to try this place for weeks and finally got to.  We got there right after they opened and people were already coming in. It didn't take  long at all for the place to fill up some we're even sitting outside. I liked this place  nothing fancy just down to earth  the flowers on the table gave it a special touch.  Bar tenders were helpful and friendly and the beer was cold. I loved the honey ginger and my husband had a Pilsner and the saison. He liked the Saison best. We tried a flight. Didn't care for the stout  just not my taste.  I tried the blood orange goose  too sour for my taste but not bad.  All in all we really enjoyed our time here. More...

Very welcoming place. Gave us a tour of the brewery and a sample of 4 different beers based on the conversation we had. The is not much food/snack from the bar. Luckily the food truck parked at the back of the brewery offers good food. Highly recommend. More...

I think this brewpub is my favorite in Scott's Addition, although I'm far from done doing the rounds. It's very industrial/brick, wood and concrete, frankly it looks like 90% of all brewpubs in hipster neighborhoods, but for some intangible reason, I felt at home here. The beers I tried were great, the sweet potato and thyme Saison was surprisingly good. No food here either except for chips clipped on the wall. Prices were decent, 5-7$ for 12-16oz servings. Strong ales, a few IPAs and saisons, no sours on tap this time around, but I'll be back to try those later. More...

I do not even drink, but I have to give these guys five stars for partnering with the food truck Go Go Vegan Go, my favorite for a bite to eat out on a nice afternoon! Â Having tried one of their beers (a stout), I definitely approve of that too! More...

My favorite brewery to hang out in. Indoor and outdoor space. They have gose and sour ales. I love those. The chairs could be more comfortable though.

Very alive on the weekend afternoon that I visited. Fun atmosphere that seems like a great meet-up spot. I had IPA X which was a very good New England-style brew. Look forward to going back and trying more. More...

We were really impressed with Ardent, having been to many of Richmond's breweries. We went on a weekend afternoon when it wasn't too busy. We were there for both the beer and Zorch, which frequents Ardent and other breweries on the weekend. They have a great space, with room to sit indoors or outdoors. They also have a wide selection of beers, with many rotating and seasonal options. We got their festbier which the brewed for Oktoberfest, and it was really good, as was the honey ginger special brew. Parking in the neighborhood was easy, and service was prompt and friendly. Give them a try! More...

Ardent Craft Ales is a large beer house in the Scott's Addison neighborhood blocks from many other breweries and cideries. It's also one of the best ones we went to if you like IPAs. The space is large with a big indoor area with a long bar and a massive outdoor space that gets full quickly during warmer months. The bartenders are friendly and can pour you a flight of four with healthy pours. There's a pizza food truck in the back serving great slices of pizza. More...

One of my fave spots to hang in Scott's Addition! Beers are reasonably priced and tasty. They have a great outdoor seating, but it can get busy and fill up quick. And I know the customers aren't a part of the place, but every time I go I meet great people! I guess this place only attract the coolest! More...

Our fav brewery experience in Richmond so far! Super cute seating area with lots of inside and outside space, dog friendly, and perfectly located in Scott's Addition, right next to ZZQ. They have the Curry in a Hurry food truck there which actually has delicious curry, even tastier when you've been drinking.Ardent's hefeweisen and IPA X were my two favs, and they have a fun rotation. Great bartenders and a big cooler of water, which I appreciated. Can't wait to come back! Next time I'll grab some beers to take home with us. More...

Stumbled upon this place on a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I only had one beer- the IPA X which was good, wish I had time to try more. The overall atmosphere is welcoming. There's a nice outdoor seating area which is elevated just off the street and when you walk inside you get a nice blast of A/C. Service is friendly and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! More...

The beers were on point. Seating outside and inside.... games for kids inside.... T-Shirts were cool. Wanted some food truck goodies, but didn’t see any. .. there was a menu, we probably got there a little late for the food truck... all is good, when there’s no food, drink more beer . Ardent was actually recommended to me by the bartender at Hardywood since they were closing at 6p. Big up to that dude!!!! More...

Vibes | Outdoor | conversation Vibes: the vibe of ardent is pretty cool. It offers an international hipster feel with craft beers (IPAs and imports) from a variety of areas. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and enthusiastic about helping you find a good beer. Outdoor: the best part of ardent is the outdoor space. With tables of various sizes 2-8 people it's the perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon with friends or even on a first date. Conversation: overall the place is set up to meet your friends or meet new ones. I went to have a drink with a college friend, and we ended up making friends with the 3 tables around us. That experience does not appear to be unique because many groups were mingling. Pro Tip: free samples so you don't have to guess what you want, you can be confident via a sample. Pro tip: no military or student discount More...

Had a great time this afternoon at Ardent! One of the biggest struggles in Richmond is Parking- am I Right?! And this brewery is a gem because it has a parking lot  also it has a great outdoor area with plenty of seating, water coolers, and shade. I just got their 5th anniversary sour IPA and it was wonderful! Not too hoppy! More...

A really great brewery in Scott's Addition. It has a huge outdoor space though it gets pretty full on the weekends in the summer. Indoor seating is limited also. This would be the first microbrewery that I have rated. I have been to just about all of them in the Richmond area, and Ardent is one of the absolute best! Let me lay out my case for you...It seems like the trend in Richmond right now is to have beer that has excessive hops. The more bitter, the better and the bearded beanie wearing hipsters seem to lap it up like a dog that's been crated all day when presented with a fresh bowl of water! Where can you go if you want some beer flavored beer? Â Ardent! Â This place always has a very good selection that would appeal to any persons tastes. They are not pretentious, very friendly, and the facility is gorgeous! When the weather is nice there is no better deck to sit out and enjoy a brew along with your dog. They often have food trucks there, so you're never a need for something to eat. Â In a world full of pretentious brew pubs, catering to those that would drink overpriced IPAs, Ardent is a breath or fresh air!!! More...

Recently moved to RVA from NC. Had a lot of craft in my day. So far, in terms of Richmond, Ardent is high on my list. Great location with just enough seating inside and out. Wide range of styles with the ability to get flights or full pours. They also provide the opportunity to grab a 4 pack to go. A tad bit pricey in terms of flights, which is why I give them 4 stars. Will be visiting them again. More...

Large dog friendly patio and almost all the tables have umbrellas for shade. Hubby had a 4-beer tasting sampler and then settled on IPAX. No food service but dogs still not allowed in the interior as we quickly found out when it began pouring outside. Everyone on the patio is trying to get inside, out of the rain, and we were IMMEDIATELY swarmed by 2 staff members telling us the dogs must stay outside. They were polite, but I thought we were bringing a dangerous weapon into the brewpub. More...
