I absolutely love this organization. We adopted our furry baby girl about 4 years ago and she’s amazing. She had her fare share of anxiety and a few bad habits at first but she quickly came around and she’s honestly the BEST dog you could imagine. She loves to give love and cuddle! She’s brought so much happiness to our home with her kindness and amazing personality! I love it here so much! The pup we adopted was heart worm positive, and needed to stay calm during her treatment, so they kept her during the treatment, and we were able to visit weekly until she could come home. I swear they had tears in their eyes when we took her, and they get so excited to see her when we stop in and visit ( probably because we bring dogs and volunteers treats! Lol ) all of my pups are excited when they realize that's where our car ride is ending:) they care about each individual animal, and it shows! More...

I did a “sleepover” with a tabby kitten named Curly and he was the sweetest, most affectionate, playful kitten I have ever seen.
My experience with cats previously had always been negative, but he was a game changer. I bonded with him so much in just one night. He is such a lovebug!!!
My heart was completely crushed when I woke up to realize that I was severely allergic to him and that’s the ONLY reason I returned him. I wish that I could have kept him so bad... to whoever adopts, Curly please take especially good care of him. I will always remember him ��

Both of my cats came from APA. They were so friendly and accommodating on letting me bring them home for “sleepovers”. One of my cats has anxiety and they put me in touch with someone that helped me figure out how to help her and keep her anxiety behaviors to a minimum. Such a great rescue! I really think these guys are great.ACT rescues some from shelters, and really gets to know them (and takes great care of them) and can tell you most everything pros and cons about behavior, temperament, etc. They want what is best for the animals, they even provide an option of a week "sleepover" to see if it's a good fit before you adopt. I was not expecting to find the most perfect dog ever for me and my family!!! I also find comfort in knowing that if (god forbid) anything happens where I can no longer care for her, this rescue will take her back and no matter what may happen she will never have to spend a minute in the shelter again.
