I found Travis while searching for videographers through Thumbtack a couple months ago and I was looking for someone who could provide me with a professional quality live performance music video. I am really glad I found him! He had excellent reviews and the videos I saw in his portfolio looked very professionally done. I decided to contact him and he was very quick at getting back to me and getting all the details about what I was looking for in the video. Everything was professional from the very beginning and the details and prices were discussed and laid out clearly in the contract. On the day of filming, he was already ready to go by the time my group showed up to the studio and he was a really easy person to work with. After the video shoot, he was very prompt at getting a rough edit and he was able to make all the changes that I asked for in the following edits. What do you love most about your job?
For me, video/film is the best medium for storytelling the way that I want to. It's fun and challenging to find the stories in small moments, let alone longer stories, so I think it's a medium that you can get a lot from over a long period of time.
It's also a particularly effective way to express yourself and your perspective on the world. This makes it an ideal medium to use for connection and empathy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Another Meadow was founded by me, Travis Ward. I've worked in the film and video industry since 2014, mostly as a camera operator. I also branched out into video production, handling the pre-production, video/audio, lighting, editing, and coloring of my own videos.
In 2017, I went full-time as a freelance Director of Photography (DP). This was a big step for my career as a DP, but I also started taking on more business and corporate video projects. In that time, I found that even when we produced a standout video, the video wasn't always being watched. As in, by anyone!
In 2019, partly as a response to this, I created Another Meadow Productions, LLC. I wanted to provide a service that was responsible for the life of the video, not just its creation. This can range from handling the marketing ourselves, to simply working together on a plan for the client to execute.
Video can be a powerful tool for communication and perspective, whether the project is creative, narrative, or corporate. I'm excited to work in this industry and I hope you consider us for your project!
