I went to Animal Kind for 15 years for my two cats and a dog. The vets are kind, realistic, respectful in regards to cost (not sure about all these comments about only wanting money - I have seen many vets at Animal Kind over the years and never felt that). They definitely went through phases with the front desk customer service being iffy, but now you can just email them and they respond quickly. this is long overdue but I cannot say enough kind words about Keisha who works at the front desk. I came in in a panic about my pet possibly having got ringworm and I was a wreck. She was very knowledgeable, patient and even spoke to my partner on my cellphone in order to get a clear history. Needless to say I was panicked for no reason and left feeling so much more at ease. The hospital manager Reena was so supportive and helpful when I had to euthanize my pet. I wasnt able to afford the cost but she was sympathetic and helped me arrange a payment plan even though it's not something that usually gets done. I would recommend Animal Kind to anyone who really loves their pets. It’s in a convenient location if you live in Park Slope, plus it’s a full facility for all the animals needs. In March, we had to face the fact that our beloved cat, just couldn’t fight any longer. They were kind, understanding, and gave my brother all the time he needed to stay to say goodbye. I was going to go with him, but I couldn’t do it, I said my goodbye to him at home. It should also be mentioned that they have a great groomer for both cats and dogs. We recently adopted another cat, he has all his shots, but his nails need to be clipped, and he could use a bath. I’ll be making an appointment soon! More...

I'm from the area but my husband and I and our dog moved cross-country for a decent amount of time and we were never able to find this level of care. Especially with the office staff being as responsible as the vets, everybody just works in tandem and we've had nothing but good experiences. My dog is like my child so a vet is essentially a pediatrician to me and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area. More...

Amazing receptionists!!! Very helpful and quick. I had an emergency with my dog and crystal got him seen super fast. When I checked out I was received with a smile and got everything i needed. My pup always gets great, caring service here, from all of the vets and staff. We saw Dr. Payne today, who remembered us and took the time to think about the right medication for my dog so that we could avoid more serious problems. Highly recommended!

Good grief I'm glad we found such a great vet so quickly here in Brooklyn. Having just moved from Oklahoma earlier this month we're new to NYC and the veterinarian who met with us was very helpful with some basic tips for adjusting to such a new environment. The staff was kind, helpful, and the office and examination rooms were very clean. Wow! Dr. M. Werner was one of the most caring and compassionate vets, I've had the pleasure of meeting. We had to put our great Min Pin (Missy My Love) of 14 years down, Dr. Werner along with the advice of the great ASPCA staff on call, helped to make the grief more bearable, especially for my son, Nick, who grew up with her since she was rescued as a pup! After a nightmare experience with another vet involving an hours-long wait in a waiting room that stank of urine, I tried Animal Kind five years ago and never looked back. Today I took my dog Charlie here (he’s new) for vaccinations and grooming, and the service from the front desk, to the techs, to the doctor and the groomer were awesome! I was seen by my appointment time, and the dr took his time examining Charlie and answering all my questions. For the first time, Charlie didn’t experience any anxiety seeing a dr/groomer! Everyone from the front desk to the techs to the pharmacy and especially the doctor are just amazing. My cat was sick and I was comforted and reassured. I had my very rambunctious little girl with me and everyone was so patient and kind with her. Dr. Podgorska even let her listen to our cat’s heartbeat, which made her day. I began going to this hospital over 5 years ago when my 16 year old chihuahua mix Jeru was suffering from kidney failure and the support and availability from Dr. Werner and the rest of the staff was amazing. I want to thank Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital for treating my Sandy with dignity and respect when it was her time to cross over. It was a hard decision to have my old girl put to rest but I know that's exactly what was done. Sandy could rest. No more aching bones. No more walking into walls. No more sleepless nights. I thank you for mailing a condolence card. I thank you for Sandy's paw prints but most of all for the thoughtfulness of everyone present that evening.
