Our driver was kind, funny and a safe driver. He did wait for people who were late to the terminal and he did pick up a hitchhiker, who bought a ticket! So I guess they do that in Alaska! And we did make it to the airport in time after all that! More...

We recently took an Alaskan Cruise on Princess and needed a ride up to Anchorage from Whittier.  We found this transfer company and they exceeded our expectations.  They were right there as we disembarked from the boat, easy to find with a sign and tour guide waiting for their passengers.  They kept us up-to-date on the plan and we even got loaded up early because everyone was there.  Jim was our driver and he drove us around the town and gave us a little information before heading into line to wait for the tunnel to open up. They were prompt, safe and reasonable.  We even had to cancel two of our tickets and I called and they handled the return promptly. I would say I was a little nervous initially because I didn't get a receipt but I called and they were able to send me one and confirm that my purchase went through.  The bus was comfortable as well and was smaller then the mega buses which was nice. We rode with Scott. He was EXCELLENT! He knew the area, was able to answer all of our many questions, met us as planned, loaded all of our luggage, drove us right to the rental area at Anchorage airport, and simply had an excellent attitude. We were SO GLAD we didn't take a big box bus...they are so "formal" and don't give the individual "tour" like this company did. More...

Met in the arrival hall by driver for a 0845 departure, little slow finding where all drivers were in the hall, however we were all off the ship by 0810 so if they had been there earlier we would not have sat in the tunnel queue for 30 mins. Departed from tunnel at 0940. Driver helpful, gave a good chat back to the hotel, his mic was poor, didnt get everything he said. Bus was ok not the most comfortable seats. More...

We took the half-day transfer from Whittier to Anchorage to get us from a cruise ship to our hotel and we are so happy we chose this company. The driver was friendly and knowledgeable and also driving safely. The tour stopped at two scenic view spots and at a Wildlife conservation center. It was raining a little so it was nice that the driver offered to drive anyone not interested in getting wet around the center instead of making them get off the bus and walk. My husband and I didn't mind the rain and enjoyed the other option of taking off to explore the conservation center on our own. This place is really worth a visit so I am glad we opted for this longer and more expensive transfer instead of just going straight from the cruise ship to our hotel. Overall, the cost of this transfer was lower than what was offered by Princess cruises and also this company was very easy to deal with and they had a generous cancellation policy which I appreciated since we not sure if we would have to make changes to our reservation. Ira (aka Santa, or Santa's cousin) lead us on a great tour from Whittier to Anchorage. We booked a private tour since we had 8 passengers. He was early, and stood with us while we tried to find/report our lost luggage to Princess.  He then helped us with our luggage to the van.He was great with our kids, as he's a grandfather himself. He took his time showing us the sights, and never hurried us along. In fact, I think we took too much time and I kind of feel bad about that! Despite us getting into Anchorage later than scheduled, he took the time and waited until we checked into the hotel and showed one of us around Anchorage so we wouldn't get lost. The tour was great!! I wish we had gone to Portage Lake but our guide decided on a wood carving cabin instead. Wasn’t really my interest but I’m sure it is for some people. I was a little weary when I booked this tour taking us from the ship to the airport. Its a smaller operation than the one run by the cruise ships. I was so surprised and impressed with our drivers knowledge and information. He encouraged questions, had a quick sense of humor and made everyone feel confidence in him. Used Anchorage Tours & Transfers to get from the The Lakefront Anchorage hotel to Whittier for our cruise on September 12 on the Island Princess.  The driver arrived on-time and loaded up our luggage and off we went.  Very nice tall young man who had lots of interesting commentary for our drive down.  The weather was stunning and we enjoyed the views along the way.  Bus was not upscale but was clean and nice.  I think the service was significantly cheaper than the train and you travel the exactly same route.  Whatever you do, don't book your transfers through Princess unless you want to pay double for the same exact service.  I highly recommend Anchorage Tours & Transfers if you are taking a cruise out of Whittier! Great tour company and amazing driver/tour-guide/historian HANK!  We had such a nice drive to our cruise ship that it was like an 'excursion' in itself!  Hank provided so much information on the history and sites of the area from our pick-up point to drop-off point about an 1 1/2 away.  He even made a quick stop at a beautiful point so everyone could take pictures!  I'm back in CA now, but this bus ride to the port was one of the best parts of our trip!  Definitely use this company;  do not use any cruise ships exorbitantly priced 'transfer'.  You'll be glad you did!  Thanks Hank! We just wanted to let Anchorage Tours & Transfers know that our family group of 7 that was on your Seward to Anchorage Transfer-Tour on Friday 8/10 at 2:30 loved our driver/tour guide Sean. He was prompt and courteous and gave us a wonderful time getting from Seward to Anchorage. We stopped at a number of great places along the way. Took the transfer from anchorage to Seward. We started at the airport as we had to return our rental. The driver was really great and knowledgeable about the area. The drive is very scenic! This was outstanding!!! We had two stops and another one at the Wildlife Preserve where we saw lots of animals.  The cruise company wanted $65 each for a transfer from the airport to Seward.  This company was $15 more for all that we got.  We met at a hotel and Kate picked us up at the scheduled time.  She had a warm personality, smiling, and was very informative throughout the tour.  Kate picked up other people at other hotels and then at the airport and we were off for our tour.   We got to the ship terminal at 1:00.  I highly recommend this tour.  It was exactly what I was hoping for. I took a private charter with Ira and a shared transfer with Cal. Both drivers were great and we thoroughly enjoyed the rides. I really appreciated that Anchorage Tours and Transfers was willing to accommodate us despite the fact that we were a group of three cyclists with lists of equipment. When one of us needed to end the trip early, they were willing to refund his shared transfer and arrange a different ride for him. The staff is ultra flexible and helpful and the drivers are great. Both drivers arrived slightly early too. Can't recommend them enough. They also happened to have some of the most reasonable pricing which sealed the deal. More...

My sister-in-law discovered this alternative to paying our cruise line to take us to the airport. For only $5 more, we got a half-day tour that was one of the highlights of the trip. I'd been wanting to see bears our entire time in Alaska, and it wasn't until Sean took us to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center that we saw bears so close we could almost touch them, as well as elk, reindeer, a bald eagle, lynx, and an owl. We also enjoyed the other stops on the tour, which were beautiful, and one had very informative placards. Also Sean gave us information along the way and offered to take photos of our family. Finally, I left a couple of items on the bus, and the company put me in touch with him in time for him to come back to the airport and bring me my things, saving me money and hassle of having them shipped back or losing them. Excellent value! Very informative tour. Not only a great trip from Anchorage, but we stopped a couple times for pictures, and had an hour to visit a wildlife refuge!
