I came here on a whim with my friend after an afternoon at the beach, and it turned out to be a solid decision!I decided to try the collard noodle bowl as well as the bucket of fries, and my friend had the Hawaiian Cowboy Burger. Overall, the two dishes exceeded expectations! Although I didn't realize that the noodle bowl would be warm (which is on me tbh), it turned out to be delicious (I was sweating up a storm though), and the fries had a generous serving. My friend said the burger was great, but could use a little bit more pineapple.I was a huge fan of the ambiance and decor  of the restaurant, as well as the compostable plates and plastic ware. I definitely would recommend if you're at the ocean front! More...

I really enjoyed Aloha Snacks. I ordered the cowboy poke and the pineapple spam musubi. Wow, was that musubi good. It's surprisingly hard to find good musubi, so I was blown away by the ingenuity and flavor! It's a must try! The cowboy poke was also very good. The salmon and salad ingredients were fresh and decently priced. I was glad to have found this restaurant! More...

Que the Hula dancers and  white sand beaches! If you're looking for a quick Island infused bite to eat please look no further! I had the chance to indulge in this delicious establishment at Benchtop brewery. Their pop up menu was anything short of island street food. I totally recommend the Spam Sliders, the pineapple jam was a perfect compliment to cut threw the fatty sweetness of the Spam and beef patty. Try the fries......you won't be disappointed! More...

GREAT place to eat right near the beach. The burgers are the perfect food to fuel up on after a beach day, but the real gem are the Poke bowls. It's hard to find fresh and healthy food on vacation, and it was really great to get it here. The bowls tasted incredibly fresh, and were packed with flavor. We returned here a few times during our stay and couldn't recommend a stop here enough. More...

Ya'll the food at this Aloha Snacks is so delicious and innovative, it's safe to say that it's one of the better places to grab a meal at the oceanfront. Â Sometimes I grab food here with my coworkers before working at my part time job, and we always love it. The Hawaiian Burger is to die for. Even though it is well done, it's mad juicy, and the flavors of the spam, pineapple, and white cheddar are everything, and the waffle fries that come with it are seasoned perfectly. Â Speaking of their fries, the different variations of their loaded waffle fries are splendiferously divine. Â I've had their "Bang Bang Fries" with kimchi, tempura shrimp, gochujang and fresh herb queso. They were good, but I just wish that the shrimp came with the tails peeled. Â The "Dirty Fries" with spam and avocado are also really good as well, but the spam and fry seasoning make them a touch too salty, but still delicious nonetheless. Â Also, do not get me started on their lobster salad tempura roll; it was seriously my favorite sushi I've had in a while! Â Everything tasted so fresh. Oh yeah, save room for dessert because their Malasada donuts are everything. I had the one filled with Nutella and I was living! I have my eyes on their ube filled donut for a future visit. All in all, if you ever find yourself on the Oceanfront area of Virginia Beach, you need to come see what Aloha Snacks is all about. Everything they serve here is a real treat. More...

Aside from Jessie and the crew being the most friendly and laid back around, the pride and care they put in to their food is incredible. The Hawaiian Cowboy burger is my go to, today however, I was feeling spontaneous and ordered one of the Aloha Specials: the Bulgogi Cheesesteak... As a lover of Cheesesteaks - and Bulgogi, I was skeptical of how a fusion of the two would turn out, but I also knew the Aloha crew wouldn't turn out anything less than perfection. Y'all.... This was ONE OF THE BEST SANDWICHES I HAVE EVER HAD! I got it to go and it was so good that I almost turned around to drive back and sing it's praises - as well as order another one. My fiancé and I came here during lunchtime and ordered the hurricane poke, farmer poke, and a spam-pineapple musubi. We also got a bottle of cherry soda inspired kombucha, locally brewed in Virginia Beach! They have a big selection of alcoholic drinks as well - kombucha is basically your only option for low sugar (6g/serving, each bottle contains 2 servings) non-alcoholic drink. It would be super nice if Aloha Snacks could carry Ito-En teas and I think it would tie nicely into their other menu offerings. The poke was good and I thought the flavor combos were bright and interesting - I especially enjoyed the fried green tomatoes that came with the farmer poke. The musubi was a little over-complicated in my opinion (see the picture) but it's hard to go totally wrong with musubi. Atmosphere was casual, light, and clean. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a break from the more traditional seafood offerings in Virginia Beach. More...

This place has been on my radar for a few months now so I was finally able to come for date night last night and see what it is all about. Parking was easy enough on the side parallel in the lot and when we entered it was pretty crowded with about 10 police officers dining at the bar and most other tables patronized. Â We were able to snag some window bar seats along the exterior of the joint and stood in line to make our order with about 6 people in front of us. I chose to get the Farmer's poke which seemed like a rather traditional poke choice with spicy salmon, rice, coconut aioli, avocado and cucumber. Â I also chose to try the Dirty Fries with waffle fries, white queso, avocado and spam. Â My bf tried the Poke Nachos with fried wonton chips, tuna, and some other goodies that he really enjoyed. Â His favorite things were the fried wonton crisps. Â He loved them. He also chose the hot dog from the menu with mango relish and coconut aioli. Â It's a large beef dog and was very yummy. Â I really enjoyed it and ate that when I decided I didn't want to finish my poke. I did not love my poke bowl but think it was more that I wasn't in the mood for raw fish and should've selected something cooked. Â The Dirty Fries were awesome, carb coma, but really delicious and the flavor combination was something I would never try on my own but really enjoyed together. Loved the vibe inside, the staff were friendly, it's relax and chill, nice decor that made me feel like I was in a cafe in Hawaii again, and the kitchen was hoppin as we probably only waited a little over 10 minutes for our food to pop up in the window with several orders in front of us. Water is in a communal jar around the corner and they have two unisex bathroom stalls in back. Â I really liked the layout with windows all around and bar tops with stools for a seat with a view while you eat. I'd love to come back and try a burger or a smoothie. Â This was a win. More...

This place is a hidden gem. Food:The food was very good.  We had the farmer's poke, the ramen noodle dish and the pulled pork bowl.  All very good in their own styles but the poke was the clear winner for me. Highly recommend the poke.  It's a great summer dish with an amazing spicy (red Tabasco level) salmon. Staff:The staff was very polite and courteous. We were pleasantly greeted and they tolerated our folded family wagon.  They make cocktails here and have a tiny tiki'ish bar where you can order from. I asked for a planter cocktail which was similar to another one of their drinks.  Oddly enough you don't pay tips on drinks here.  When I asked they brought our à donation bowl.  Wow. Bad ass. Location :It's a bit inset from the beach, past a small set of shops and one gas station but worth the trek.   The place is very clean.  They have child seats for little ones.  They seemed good, but I wouldn't actually know that, since our little monsters are convinced that they are adults.  Once we left we noticed there was an outdoors seating section with a more than decent musician singing and playing the guitar.  You dispense your own dishes when you are done(as it should be).  Restrooms are clean, and my daughter pointed out that the toilet flush is quiet, so I must share that with the world. Background :We have been staying a week in the area and this is already one of my preferred foods locations.  We have two small children, ages 3 and 4.  Both are pretty finicky eaters, one doesn't like to mix anything (as in the chicken can't touch the starch) and the other is as stubborn as mule.  Finding foods that have the taste, texture, temperature, emotional value, [insert insane requirement here] that they are looking for is rather challenging most times. At Aloha Snacks we managed to find them a good middle ground.  The staff (and patrons) were patient with our kids' whining, which we appreviated.  We asked for a stripped down version or their ramen dish and they obliged, we willingly paid.  It was late for the kids to eat, about 745 pm, so the whole ordeal could have gone terrible but it didn't.  Little monsters were fed AND we even got to 1) eat our own food (I.e. Not just shrapnel of leftovers from the two tornados) and 2) get a drink which means my wife got buzzed enough to find me attractive again (not irresistable, that would mean she would have had too much, let's all be honest here).  Anywho, good times, good good, good peoples.  If you see a red collapsible wagon around and hear some G8 summit level negotiations of toddlers, that's probably us back for more poke. I really hesitated on visiting this place based on prior reviews. Not gonna lie, knowing what took place at this former pharmacy also scared me away. But I was curious about the food and the chef here at Aloha has an impressive reputation from his past gigs at a few of my favorite restaurants. I was down the street for a conference on a hot afternoon so I decided that poke would be it for lunch. It was a short walk to Aloha Snacks although there is a private parking lot, so if you were to drive, parking wouldn't be an issue as it would be at other beach restaurants. The menu prices are a bit above average compared to other places that serve poke. I walked up to the counter and ordered the Farmer's poke. I can see how seating can be a wait for some folks, but since it was just me, I was easily able to snag a seat at the counter. About 10 minutes later, my name was called and my food was brought out to me. The plate looked beautiful and I didn't know where to start. It came with spicy salmon, cucumber, avocado, mango and the real game changer: fried green tomatoes! What Yes. And for $15 it was amazing. I usually don't ever finish a poke bowl in one sitting but this time I had no choice since I had no refrigerator to store it. I was stuffed but it was worth it! The only thing that made my first visit uncomfortable was the temperature inside the restaurant because it was HOT. I don't know if the AC was out or maybe because it was packed full of people, but I would've enjoyed my meal more if I wasn't sweating lol. More...

The crab was crispy and well seasoned. My husband had the farmers market poke with fried green tomatoes and spicy salmon. We're adventurous eaters and very critical of food that is just "eh" and basic, this was the best place we've eaten in a long time.
