We celebrated Mother's Day at Alihan's by sharing several dishes. The Mixed Cold Platter, Mixed Kebabs, and the Shrimp Saute. The cold platter in combination with their Turkish bread was delicious! The Shrimp Saute was my favorite. Wonderfully spiced shrimp, vegetables and rice that I will order again. Kebabs were excellent as well as served in generous portions. I will definitely return and reccomend! More...

Wow! I just had a great meal at Alihan's! Five of us, including my mother, stopped by around 1 today for Mother's Day lunch. Decor and music were nice and understated as always. We shared several dishes, which were all DELICIOUS!!! Kebabs, falafel, vegetables, appetizers - all wonderful. The service was equally impressive. Our waiter was polite and friendly and wasn't at all intrusive. Alihan's has become one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. More...

Amazing Mediterranean cuisine in Pittsburgh. The falafel was great, it was my favorite! The lamb kebab was very juicy and flavorful. The Turkish delight desserts were an amazing wrap to our lunch. The place itself is very casual and doesn’t have much ambience but the food is worth it! More...

The lamb kebabs were AMAZING! The Turkish tea was to die for (I wish I was able to purchase some to take home) and the service was perfect. I will definitely be returning to Alihan's More...

Amazing food. The cold eggplant appetizer melts in your mouth. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Food is great, service is great but food took awhile to receive.
Never tried Mediterranean cuisine before and the waiter was really helpful and even suggest a meal base on what I like which I really enjoy. Definitely dine there again if I'm in the area again. More...

Light-up Night 2018 was chilly, but our visit to Alihan's provided a cozy and utterly satisfying repast. Outstanding Mediterranean cuisine with fresh, beautiful and extremely delicious food. The bread is outstanding. Turkish coffee is served in lovely filigree silver cups, and the accompanying baklava we ordered to round off the meal was the perfect component. More...

Restaurants like this is exactly what Pittsburgh needs! It’s nice to find a more cultural restaurant that isn’t fried and Italian. Our waitress was very friendly and offered input on what to order. My table started off with the hummus, I highly recommend! Honestly some of the best I’ve ever tried and then I ordered the gyro. It was good, not a traditional gyro meaning there was no pita surrounding it but still very good! All in all I highly recommend this place for any occasion! More...

If you enjoy Mediterranean food, this place is for you. It's the real deal! My husband and I have season tickets to the symphony and travel two hours to get to Pittsburgh. So choosing a good restaurant is part of making the drive worth it for is. And we noticed that we keep coming back to Alihan's! Kabobs of every kind, wheat bulgar, salads, and desserts, all amazing. I tried the sea bass filet and was blown away. It was wonderful! Two musts: order their cold appetizer sampler and order a side of pita bread! You won't be disappointed. Alihan's location is right beside a public parking garage and in the heart of Pittsburgh's culterual district. More...

Friendly service but the food was mostly just kebab. Food was fine. I would have liked more selection. Atmosphere was 5 star. Easy to get a reservation. Disappointed to see alcohol in a halal restaurant. Dessert was very tasty. More...

I've never had a slice from this place with any less than six drinks in me, so please take this review with a grain of salt. The most confusing yet delightful thing about getting pizza from Giovanni's is the dark cheese that looks burnt. It absolutely tastes better than it looks. Still, know that this is pizza for drunks. If it's not piping hot, it's total rubbish. And if it is piping hot and you're here at 1am, you'll likely burn the roof of your mouth.

Everytime I eat here, it seems to be under renovations with empty pizza boxes stacked up everywhere. It is a bit of a hole, and I'd probably never choose to eat here stone sober, but their pepperoni slices with overcooked cheese and burnt toppings seemingly hit the spot every time.

Ordered seafood pasta. Very good! Large amount of food too. Only thing I didn't like about it was that they use imitation crab meat.

Great food and service. I have wanted to go to Alihan’s ever since I saw their commercial as it looked delicious. Although the space is a little small it is the perfect downtown restaurant for some delicious Mediterranean cuisine without spending a fortune. In addition, it is also BYOB!

Great pizza and very large menu with plenty of options. They offer some decent lunch specials at a practical price. Delivery drivers are always very friendly. Wings are good, as well as their homemade soups, and humus. Very large portions. Salad's here are a go to- not your typical iceberg with a couple tomatoes- very large serving of greens and vegetables with your choice of croutons of garlic bread. Only downside is sometimes one of the staff members who takes orders/answers the phone is not very friendly/customer service oriented. More...

Enjoyed my visit ther quite a bit.
1. Food was amazing. One bite out of the Chicken Kebab. and it took me to a warm night in Izmir 20 years ago, when I was 9 and visiting family. The lentil soup was great, exactly how my mother makes it.
2. The service was tremendous! The server asked question, checked on us and kept my Turkish tea filled.
3. Atmosphere is very simple and elegant, much like Istanbul herself. The location was also great for someone visiting town.
4. Prices were fair for the quality of the prepared meal.
Will go back when I visit Pittsburg again!

Stayed at the Renaissance Hotel on 11-11-17, and decided to eat a few doors down at the Giovanni's pizzeria.

I am so very glad we did! We were welcomed with open arms and a very friendly atmosphere.

I do forget the young blonde haired girl's name that work there but she was amazing with our children and very helpful with giving us ideas for the family while staying in Pittsburgh. She told us about her three boys and advised us of what they like to do in the city.

It made us feel very comfortable and we have no problem recommending this restaurant to everybody we come in contact with.

We would like to say thank you for the great food, great environment, and hospitality second to none in the Pittsburgh area.

I think all restaurants need to take lessons from your wait staff including your entire work staff.

Thank you.

The Novelli family.
