Active Dogs is by far the best dog walking service and value in the area. The owner and staff are friendly, professional, and extremely easy to work with. Our vet recommended that our dog get more exercise. Regular dog walking services are expensive for a short 15-20 minute walk. Active Dogs takes the dogs on long hikes allowing the pups to run, play, and get the exercise they need. Our dog get so excited on his hike days and comes home worn out!!I highly recommend this company to anyone in the area!! More...

Great service! They have taken my dog on many hikes! He is always happy and tired when he is returned home! They have been available last minute to pick up my dog for the times that I haven't scheduled in advance. Highly recommend!

Eric and the team at Active Dog are fantastic. When my wife and I adopted a very active mixed breed (Calvin) we were trying to get it adequate exercise and Active Dog was the solution. Eric and his team welcomed Finn into the pack and allowed him to unleash his high energy in the woods and on the trails, in a safe and comfortable environment. And Active Dog has found Finn such loving and caring overnight care that it allows us to take advantage of our recent “empty nester” status and get away for a night or two, knowing that Finn is in good hands and will be very well cared for. We would only ask that Finn not look quite so happy as he bounds off to spend the day or night with his Active Dog friends. On top of Active Dog’s flexibility and responsiveness to last minute and ever-changing schedules and requests, Eric introduced us to Paul, a trainer extraordinaire. Paul is both a dog, and people, whisperer. As most would attest, it is usually the owner’s fault, not the dog’s, if the dog is not well trained and prone to misbehaving. Active Dog hikes & group play has been great for our dogs! I have NEVER trusted anyone to take my pups overnight but finally tried it with Eric for the first time, when I returned from my trip both my pups were were well fed and exhausted from a great hike! ! A big thank you to Eric, Amanda and the team at Active Dog for taking our Rigley boy (5 month old labrador retriever) on hikes at Mianus and boarding! As first time dog "parents" we were hesitant to leave him with anyone as a puppy, but Amanda has gotten him extremely socialized, exercised, and very very sleepy when he comes home! We are extremely pleased with the level of service and care offered by Eric and his team for our dog. We have been using Active Dog for our very active 1 year old pup since last fall and have had a tremendously positive experience with Eric and his team. Eric is incredibly responsive to email and texts, and is always willing to accommodate our schedule. More importantly, Eric and his team treat our dog as if she was their own, which is no easy feat when you're caring for such a large pack! Our dog is always ready to bolt out the door when Active Dog arrives. In addition to the hiking, we have boarded our dog twice with Eric and his team, each time for one week, and both experiences were incredibly positive. It was easy to enjoy our time away from home knowing she was in such capable and caring hands, receiving photo updates each day of our dog’s “vacation” while we enjoyed ours. Eric and his team are also extremely conscientious with regard to our home, always making sure that our pup is dry and cleaned off before heading back into the house. Eric and his team have an awesome thing going. My Dog Brady LOVES her Active Dog days. She RUNS to the door, wags her whole butt she is so excited, and has a blast out there. I love seeing the photos of her being agile out in the woods - jumping logs, climbing up on rocks, running with the pack. She is good and tired when she comes home and the evening walk is very relaxed and she sleeps very well. I have also boarded with Eric and had his walkers come to the home when we didn't board. It's much better than dog walking, obedience training, and daycare wrapped in one. It's basically higher education for canines. Eric and the active dog team are truly special and we are lucky to have Thuja in the program. We found active dog after Thuja was expelled from daycare for being too "energetic" and Eric said he was the perfect candidate for the program. It's not uncommon for animals in a confined area to be overwhelmed and overstimulated. At active dog It's not just about playing and getting through the day but about learning, listening, and working as a group. Over the past year I have noticed vast improvements in Thuja's behavior and know a big part of it is because of Eric and his team. Brooke and I couldn't be happier with Active Dog and highly recommend their services so you too can enjoy watching your puppy wait at the window for the canine-mobile to arrive, and then race past you (as if you don't exist) to join his friends!!!!!! -Brooke and Andrew More...

I have a 6month old golden retriever who is my "golden boy" he's been part of the pack since he was 5 months old! Active dog is the best walking service around! ! Brady has a blast, he gets to hike in the woods and swim! I work crazy hospital hours so best part is that he is always willing to take Brady last minute!!! After a typical hike Brady is exhausted!!
