I grew up in Arlington and have only been to Acitron a few times. That said the times that I've gotten a meal here I have never been disappointed. With Mexican tacos and Tex-Mex burritos dominating the concept of Mexican food almost all the time, it's easy to forget all of the other dishes that come from this culture. Each and every dish is prepared with care and seasoned to perfection. I've been here up until closing before and watched the staff gather for an end of day meal before cleaning up and it shows how much they care about taking care of their customers and providing them with a level of service that is nothing less than fantastic. If you go, two recommendations. 1) Go in the summer time when their patio is open. There's no difference in food quality whether on the patio or not, but the dining experience between the adjacent buildings is something you won't find anywhere else in Arlington. 2) Whether you get it with your entree or as a side dish, be sure to order their eloté. It's a Mexican street style grilled corn, seasoned with spices and topped with cheese. If you like corn on the cob, you'll love this.As long as I'm in Arlington either living there or just visiting, I'll definitely be at Acitron! More...

While everything here is delicious, the Mexican corn is the reason I come. Yes, I know it's a side dish - but it's perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The mole sauce is terrific and their cocktails are strong. If you're looking for a great Mexican restaurant but are tired of the usual Tex-Mex fare, check this place out. More...

Good food, they get the order wrong all the time though, so triple check your order before you leave. Their beans weren't watery at all one day and they were very good, then the next day it looked like they were dropped into a cup of water the next.

Long overdue writing a glowing review of Acitron as we've been coming here consistently -- to mark special occasions or just because -- for many years. This place is fantastic, always a spectacular meal. We're creatures of habit so tend to order the same deliciously amazing things over and over: shrimp or fish tacos for me and some version of mole or enchiladas for him, guacamole to start, occasionally the elote when we're especially hungry. All perfection. I don't know what magic they put in the rice and beans but I would eat them every day. The ambiance is super appealing. It's generally crowded but never too noisy. The service is friendly and prompt. And Gotu and Iraiz are always so very warm and welcoming when we have the pleasure of seeing them out and about in the dining room. Highly recommended! More...

Some of the most amazing Mexican food I've had! Friendly staff and very prompt, food came out within 10-15min. Love the ambiance-fun and lively but not too loud, could still have a conversation. Will definitely return!

The complimentary chips and salsa were fantastic and the salsa was homemade with a lot of flavor. The guacamole was also delicious and you have the option to get it mild, medium or hot which I have never seen offered for guacamole in a restaurant. The tacos are generous with their fillings and I was full from just eating one. The mole sauce tasted homemade and was as good as sauce I have had in Mexico, very authentic. Also the flour tortillas are homemade too.I found plenty of cocktail options, also the Margaritas are not too sweet, which made them perfect. More...

Very nice Mexican place in Arlington Center. Â Food quality is very good. Â Portions are reasonable, not huge, but definitely reasonable for what you pay. Â The wife got the Crepas de Rajas - a delicious vegetarian dish which I strongly recommend. Â I got Mole Poblano, a shredded chicken with mole sauce dish. The only slight criticism I have of my dish was that it was slightly too chocolatey tasting. Â Mole sauce is a very hard thing to get right. Â Perhaps this was a tiny bit too sweet. Â But still, this was definitely better than most mole sauces I've had in the Eastern MA area which often taste like melted Hershey Bars. You get nachos and excellent home-made salsa with your meal and we also sprang for Guacamole dip which was excellent. Friendly professional service too. Â This is definitely a place I'd return to. This is a wonderful place, from the decor, food, drinks and great staff. There were 9 of us for dinner and our first time, and not last time, to experience Acitron. I travel often Mexico and the food was authentic to say the least. From the guacamole, to the chips and salsa to the Mole Poblano, it was incredible! The Mexican Street Corn was delicious. This is a fantastic place for just drinks, a romantic dinner or a large family gathering. They also have an outdoor patio.. We are looking forward to another visit to Acitron! More...

Oh my Lord, I can't wait to come here again. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were delicious. Something as simple as their chips for their chips and guacamole were so flavorful. I got fajitas as my main course and my slow eating self ate that meal very quickly. Then, I was surprised by my famous with some vanilla kind of cake for my birthday and that was light, easy on the sweetness, and delicious. It's a small little joint but it is out of this world. Can't wait to go back! Also, for drivers the parking isn't too bad you just have to do meters. But it's not hard to find a spot. More...

I've driven past this place so many times while visiting family in the area.  Being a California resident, I'm picky to snobby about Mexican restaurants so I generally don't bother with Mexican spots back East since I've had a few bad experiences. A group of friends wanted to dine here  so I went along and was pleasantly surprised.  The food was fantastic and so were the drinks.  I had tacos and elote that could rival any of my favorite spots back in LA.  The atmosphere was lively and the staff was helpful.  I look forward to stopping by again the next time I'm in town.  The only reason I didn't give it a five was the longish wait for our food.  It was a super busy night but the wait did seem a little excessive.
