Yesterday evening my front door got stuck closed, and we had to resort to entering and exiting the house through the kitchen window.  This morning, less than an hour after I called Academy Locksmiths for help, Weston arrived!  He cheerfully climbed in through the window and got to work, and had the door open in 15 minutes.  He explained my problem and helped me find a workaround while I work with my HOA to replace the front door and jamb.  Andria was great on the phone, even calling after Weston left to ensure everything had gone okay.  The price was more than reasonable -- opening the door and re-keying my deadbolt cost me less than I once paid another company to pick a simple lock. I locked myself out of my house and I was so frustrated because it costs a ton to get yourself back in. Fernando helped by sending me a coupon and told me to call around and he'd be willing to price match. I didn't have to worry about price matching because the prices at Academy Locksmith were at least $10 less than anywhere else. Needed help with a padlock situation at home late last night and sent a message via Yelp. This morning I received an extremely apologetic phone call from the manager Fernando for not returning the message until the morning.  He had a technician out in the field that could get to the house within the hour which was great but he added that he would give me $10 off for not getting back to me sooner which was much appreciated.  The technician Cody showed up within the hour and he couldn't have been nicer.  Super professional and very polite.  I showed him the padlock in question and he shared the couple of options to consider.  The great thing is that he also had padlocks in his truck that they sell and discussed the options (key v. combo) and he was extremely helpful going through the pros and cons.  Cody finished up the job within 15 minutes of arrival and got me all sorted out.  Awesome job with taking care of the padlock.  One other thing: I had purchased the $20 for $10 deal last night and totally forgot about it.  As I was settling out my bill, not only did he mention the $10 off that his manager had offered, but he also noted that I had purchased the $20 for $10 and made sure that I redeemed it and deducted from the bill.  You couldn't have asked for more conscientious people.  I highly recommend the guys at Academy and appreciate the great service from Cody! Called Academy Locksmith to change our door locks because we couldn't figure it out. After jumping around from locksmith to locksmith storefronts all over Orange/Anaheim, I can honestly say Academy Locksmith is the best. After being told by other locksmith stores that my key was a special order key, and that they couldn't do it, I had almost given up hope that I would find a locksmith with my "special" key. By the way, the key isn't a do not copy key, just a thicker key than usual. Walked into Academy Locksmith and was quickly greeted by Jason. Showed him the key, and unfortunately, they didn't have the key as well. However, instead of just sending me away, he immediately went to his computer and searched for the key to order. He found it and ordered the key right away. Jason ordered the key for us on Friday and he gave me a call the following Monday to tell me they had arrived! The key copying process was quick and easy! Other locksmiths wanted to charge $12 for this key, but with the special order and all it was only $4 a key. Definitely recommend this place for anything locksmith related. Fernando was a great help over the phone. Semko came out and he made it look easy. Best thing of all is that I got it for half the price from what the dealer was trying to charge. My key even had the Toyota logo woop woop looks just like the original. Semko had a key lying around with my Toyota logo, he also came out to my work and made the key while I was on the clock..... Karen from Academy Locksmith called me today, twice. She didn't have to. Was under no obligation to do so, legal or otherwise. My father is 78 years old, and is suffering from the early stages of dementia. The last time that he went to the bank, he withdrew $5000. Which he promptly misplaced. And the last time that he drove his car, he took a detour through a neighbor's front yard. So I have his car keys now. It is very difficult to withhold his independence like this from him. He is calling me every day to ask for his keys, sometimes more than a dozen times a day. I had my sister tell him that she was holding the keys for a while, just to take some pressure off me. That didn't last. She caved the very first time that he demanded them returned.But Karen did not cave. Karen called me earlier today, knowing nothing of our situation, to notify me of my father's intent. She listened with compassion to the details of my plight, and she responded with an offer of help. She agreed to set up an appointment for late tomorrow to placate my father, by which time I will have had enough time to move his car. Then she called again to let me know that she had done just that.She probably just ought to have taken that old man's money the first time that he called. After all, businesses are in business to make money. But she didn't. That's called character. That's why I'm writing this long review almost immediately after getting off the phone with her. Last night I locked my keys in my vehicle and made literally about 15 calls.. Everyone wanted a 20 dollar service charge plus labor and nobody could guarantee me or even an estimate on what it would cost me to get into my Toyota Camry a very common car. There was some confusion at 1st when a dispatcher called me is morning,Not knowing the Arrangements made previously. I cancelled my appt. I then called & spoke with Fernando (one of the Mgrs.) You know what the best part of Labor day is? Not the barbeques and the future coronary emergencies. Not the International Street Fair either. It's getting locked out of your house. Yes, sarcasm intended.Fortunately, these people showed up, thanks to Yelp! Hey, it's not just reviews anymore. you can actually use it to find businesses, people!Brian (I think was his name), showed up with his towering presence, and helped me back into my house with a minimal of "damage" to my lock. So, if you're looking up a locksmith, I'm sure you can relate to the feeling of shutting the door and instantly realizing you forgot to grab your keys. ..that was me this last Saturday. Luckily I had my phone, but the battery was low so needless to say I was a bit panicky. These guys were one of the few places open. Go figure a locksmith closing at 5 pm like all these others, whats the point of that, no one locks themselves out when it's convenient! So I called and William answered the phone right away, gave me a quote and told me he'd call as soon as he got ahold of one of his techs. 5 minutes later he calls and tells me an approximate arrival of the tech. 20 minutes later, Mike shows up and opens the door in less than 5 minutes! They were both so nice and the price was $79, which is reasonable considering the alternative was sleeping on a lounge chair out by the apartment pool! Another thing I really appreicated was, rather than writing my card information down, Mike called into the office so that the only place my card info was used was to run the transaction through that one time. At first I was very paranoid about having a locksmith come to change my locks because I've heard so many horror stories. Anthony was so patient in responding back and forth in emails to convice me they were legit and all would be fine. Then Jeremiah came and was very professional and knew what he was doing (in fact I even learned a few things in watching too) and he was funny! Academy Locksmith's Rocks! I had been ripped off by other mobile locksmiths in the past and told them that I didn't want to spend a lot of money getting a couple of locks re-keyd, knobs installed, etc. .. the experienced serviceman did what he could and suggested that I go to a hardware store and purchase additional locks that I needed and he would install them (saving me a lot of money). I called Academy because they were local and had good reviews on Yelp. Our business needed to have two locks re-keyed immediately, and they came in less than an hour. The technician was friendly, quick and very professional. I had a misunderstanding with one of the gentlemen over pricing and it was cleared up without any hassle.
