Absolutely outstanding meal. It can be hard to get calamari right, and it was some of the best I've had in quite some time. One of our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurants in town. Can’t say enough good things about the owners and the restaurant. Go on Friday night between 6pm and 9pm for a two person light music performance (think Sinatra, Sam Cooke, etc). Small quaint spot with big Italian flavor! I believe it is family owned and operated too. This spot has a to-go counter (call ahead), a 4 seat bar with draft beer, a patio, and an dine in area with a wall that separates it from the aforementioned area. After a very disappointing experience at Dolce Vita, I decided to give A Taste of Italy a try. Very glad I did! I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. The noodles/pasta tasted homemade-- not starchy like store bought. Meat sauce was clearly house-made. Also ordered the meatball appetizer-- 3 large meatballs in marinara.
