The absolute best movers I've used!They are the most pleasant and professional movers I've ever encountered. They wrap all of your furniture so thoroughly, you'd think they were moving their own prized pieces. Anything that you haven't packed at the time they arrive, gets packed. Well. And labeled. Another incredible benefit to using 495 is that you can get all the packing supplies you need from their warehouse for no extra charge. Boxes of all shapes and sizes, tape, newsprint for wrapping delicate items -- all of it. No. Extra. Charge. My first move with 495 was an easy one. I only had a few pieces, but they were challenging to move and were valuable to me. They handled it with ease and professionalism. My second move was much more challenging, and is the reason I would recommend them to anyone. The move took twice as long as estimated (through no fault of 495). While the move stretched on hour after hour beyond the estimated time, the crew never considered cutting corners to save time. They continued on with their meticulous attention to detail. They also all maintained incredibly positive attitudes and excellent customer service throughout the entire move. This was particularly impressive at 1:30am, in the 12th hour of the move, when they elected to execute a heroic maneuver to get my oversized couch into my new home. 495 Movers was recommended to me and they performed excellently!  495 was involved with a small move for staging our home to be sold. Then moving and storing our furniture (again not originally planned) while our new place was renovated.  Then 495 finally moved us seamlessly into our new home in record time- again getting four movers in total with the leader, Gustavo. Then finished in record time and everything was placed where asked and also sometimes second moves were necessary. Moti, the owner, is caring and professional. Had an easy move to our new house thanks for 495 movers. They moved us out, stored our furniture/boxes for several months, and moved us in seamlessly. Everyone on the team was extremely polite and professional. When I needed some extra boxes (which were all provided by 495 movers) I pulled up to their building, they asked me to open my trunk and just loaded up everything I needed for me. These guys are THE Best movers in the area, hands-down.From start to finish my experience with them was absolutely top-notch.  Other movers want to nickel and dime you for boxes, tape and packing material, not these guys!Other movers will say they will be there at a certain time only to have you waiting around, not these guys! They were prompt and even got to our house earlier than expected the morning of the move.Other movers will seem to be intentionally lagging during your move in order to charge a higher rate for more time spent, not these guys! They worked FAST, to the point where I couldn't even fathom how they were getting my stuff down five flights of stairs so quickly (this was an intense move with limited items able to fit in my ancient elevator).  Other movers will skimp on the material used to protect your items, not these guys! 495 Movers are AMAZING!  I have moved half a dozen times, and my move from the DC area to another state with 495 Movers has been THE BEST move of all.  Too bad that the 495 Beltway, itself, isn't nearly as efficient as 495 Movers!!!We originally arranged Colonial Van Lines (Florida) to move us.  At the very last minute, Colonial Van Lines abandoned us!!!  They told us on the day of the move that they couldn't move us.  Luckily, we got a referral to 495 Movers from JK Movers.  Moti from 495 Movers came to our house on the very same day to bail us out, after Colonial Van Lines dropped the ball.  After a walk around and quote that morning, his team showed up within a couple hours to start packing and loading!  Within 36 hours of being abandoned by Colonial Van Lines, we had all of our stuff packed and loaded by 495 Movers.  It was the most amazing team I had ever seen.  All our stuff in an 18-wheeler was delivered right on time, as promised.  And, they had their team members at the delivery site making sure things went smoothly.  Moti kept me up-to-date with everything.  No surprises.  I would use 495 Movers again for my move, and I would HIGHLY recommend this moving company to anyone who appreciates efficiency and professionalism. Loved them!!! Our friends were moving the previous weekend and selected JK Movers and we were about ready to use them as well. 495 Movers is the most professional moving company I've done business with. The sales rep. (Tom) very professionally, and expertly took all my details over the phone. He was a real gentleman. On the day of the March 6 move, the movers showed up early and worked expeditiously and expertly to wrap all my furniture and move my furnishings with the care and concern they would have moved their own furniture. I've moved what feels like a million times in my life, but my move from DC to NY is the first time I decided to spring for movers. Just couldn't deal with the stress of renting, driving, and unloading a double parked truck on the street. Not to mention actually getting it into the apartment. I'm stressed again just thinking about it!Luckily I came across 495 Movers, got a not-to-exceed quote (save me another sliver of stress there), and booked it. I only had about two weeks' notice and it was no problem for the company. They were scheduled to come between 8 and 9, and were there right at 845. A quick tour through my things so they knew what they were grabbing, and they were on their way wrapping and loading. They finished loading up the truck in a little over an hour (small 1 bedroom apartment's worth of stuff) and we were all on our way! My husband and I have used 495 Movers for two moves and each time they were EXCELLENT! The most recent move was exceptionally stressful due to some unfortunate circumstances (had nothing to do with 495 Movers), and they were so reliable and considerate. These guys gave me a darn near perfect moving experience! I want to break my review down into 1) Communication, 2) Timeliness, 3) Effectiveness, and 4) Cost. 1. Communication: we had contacted to other Movers to give us estimates on how much it would cost to move or two bedroom apartment from Falls Church to Fairfax. The first mover set up an appointment with us to come out and give us an estimate and then cancelled one hour before they were supposed to be there letting us know that they couldn't do the move.  They did this after waiting 10 days. The second mover was very friendly, but would not return phone calls, or give us a solid estimate period he just seemed too busy. 495 movers got back to us within 3 hours after emailing for an estimate and by the end of the work day we had a complete and accurate price estimate. Josh and Tom we're very friendly, very reassuring, and extremely thorough and accurate and their discussions with me. I was able to contact them a couple more times the week before the move for additional information and clarification on things which they were extremely responsive to. An easy five stars on communication.2. Timeliness.  The response time for an appointment and the estimate was lightning quick. The movers showed up 45 minutes ahead of schedule. They moved furniture, packed, loaded the truck, unloaded the truck in about 8 hours,  exactly what we were told the move would take. Finishing the paperwork took about 5 minutes. So another five stars for 495 Movers' timeliness.3. Effectiveness.  I have moved many times in my life, and I have never seen such focus and attention to detail with regards to wrapping the furniture, carefully wrapping each glass and play in the kitchen, not to mention the other things in the apartment, and securely taping and retaping each box making sure nothing would break open. I was talking to my husband and told him they had wrapped the sofa so well you could have dropped it in the Atlantic Ocean and it wouldn't have gotten one drop of water on it. I Not one item was scratched,  not one item was dented. The crew was extremely careful and respectful of our property. Another five stars for effectiveness.4. Cost.  We made the mistake of thinking we were more packed than we actually pay ked. At least one third of the time spent with this move was packing that we thought we had already done. Still or move came out to be around $1,500 plus tip, and given the amount of things that we had , the amount of junk they  still had to pack, and the quality of service we received, $185 an hour, no charge for any of the supplies , andThem throwing in an additional hour to account for their travel time, we made out like bandits.Overall, the movers were friendly, they were extremely good at their jobs, and I would use 495 movers again any day of the week and twice again on Sunday. Excellent. Above and beyond customer service. My family and I have moved 17 times in 20 years with the military. I have had the pleasure of dealing with some good companies and the displeasure of dealing with surly, lazy inconsiderate ones. This company clearly operates as the model for customer service, efficiency, and quality. I can only assume that all of their employees are held to a very high standard. Even so, the crew seemed to actually enjoy doing their best. From the clear, complete and timely scheduling and set up to the thorough care given to the handling and packing of our household goods, Family Movers set the bar. Highly recommended! We decided to use 495 movers based on several recommendations from Friends. We were very pleased with the service and the hard work of the team.  The team was helping us move from a 1BR to a 3BR apartment and had a stop at a storage facility on the way to the new apartment. The team was very attentive to detail, very careful with all our belongings, and explained to us the best way to move things. They were very coordinated between themselves and this made the move go quickly.We also had an issue with the loading dock at our old building, but the team was patient as we worked through it with our building management and tried to make up for the lost time during the move time itself.We would definitely recommend 495 and use them again! Very happy with the job they did.  We just did a local move but it was a 4 bedroom house.  We chose to pick up boxes and packing material beforehand to pack ourselves.  We appreciated that flexibility!  A team of 4 guys came for all the heavy stuff ( including two upright pianos!) and filled the truck with the already packed boxes.  They estimated a full day (8 hrs) but ended up working 11 and making two trips.  We only had to pay for the additional time, which was understood.  Hard working guys...it was difficult to communicate with most of them, but the guy in charge spoke great English and kept his guys until the job was done.  They even reassembled beds and cupboards ( also previously discussed) and did a better job than our original company that moved us from overseas.  A good crew makes all the difference - we have nothing but good things to say about whoever we interacted with, at the office and on moving day.  We did shop around and this was the best price by far, with a good amount of flexibility too.  In all we paid $2700 for everything.  No damages at all. My experience was fantastic. 495 Movers was friendly from my initial call for an estimate, the in-home quote, an the actual move.  The estimate was exactly what I paid.  I liked not being charged extra for packing and moving materials.  They also had the best price.  The movers were very careful with my belongings and nothing was lost or broken. I had to move from an apartment to a house a couple miles away (MD to DC). My grandma was sick, and needed some extra help to be able to stay in her home. I used 495Movers to help me move my stuff. They were very courteous, and gave me a flat rate so I knew how much it was going to be up front plus all packing material is free. The movers that came were very gentle with my stuff, and everything arrived at my grandma's quickly, and unbroken.
