Working with Chef Robin is fantastic. She is not just attentive to but really interested in creatively accommodating your individual needs and preferences when it comes to meal planning. Truly collaborative. Eating more plant-based, whole foods was a personal goal, and I was able to do that and lose 20 pounds with Chef Robin’s creative and delicious meals!

Contact info on profile picture! Hello! I have been working in the food industry for quite some time. I have worked in many different cuisine types from sushi to an American-German restaurant and so many more in between. I am African American but grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood eating so many wonderful things that I hold dear to me. I also love experimenting with new cultures and styles of food.

Amazing!!! Demeris catered our backyard wedding of 250 people - guests are STILL raving about the food, 4 months later! They are accommodating, easy to communicate with and just plain delicious. Demeris definitely gives you your bang for your buck, for sure. They are also a one stop shop for tables, chairs, linens, etc!

Soooo this is another HRW review, but I will most definitely say that I would love to return to Masraffs to sample the regular menu. The s.o. and I had a nothing-short-of-fabulous experience! From the get go, from the hostess to our waiter, we were greeted with a smile and graciousness throughout the entire time we were there. There was always someone on the perimeter of the room watching...not creepily watching, but being extremely attentive to our needs throughout the meal, without being intrusive. I didn't realize how much I take that for granted. I'm so used to having to either flag my waiter down or to be annoyed that they won't leave me and my food alone. My picks for the 3-course meal?:- Wild Mushroom Ravioli: little meat filled pasta shells, it was the right amount of sauce and the pasta was folded and cooked well.- Paella Risotto: some of THE best paella I've had -- shrimp, prawns, divers scallop, sausage all wrapped up in delicious rice and saffron broth...sigh...- Warm Double Chocolate Fondant: right before this course came out, the owner made his rounds and talked about how he aimed to make sure his restaurant had some of the best desserts/coffee for the end of the meal (he insisted that without that his entire meal was ruined! :) haha), and he completely delivered. I had a delightful little fondant cake topped with vanilla bean ice cream. The best part was sinking my spoon into that cake...a delectable river of chocolate was in the center!! so creamy and sweet...mmmm!This meal was one of the best I've had in a LONG, long time. I was completely satisfied with every single element.

This is probably the best of the affordable Cuban restaurants in town (as in not so far out in the suburbs). The chef used to work at Cafe Piquet (the widely-acclaimed Cuban restaurant in town -- but not as affordable). If you don't mind eating at a hole in a wall establishment in an area that is populated with Colombian hangouts and discoteques, then this is a good stop.I had batido de Mamey, batido de Mango for drinks. They were good. The Mamey wasn't sweet enough to my liking so I added sugar -- a quick fix!The appetizers were scrumptions. I loved the fried yuccas as well as the croquetas de jamon (I definitely would recommend the croquetas). Another table had empanadas and I must admit, it did make my mouth water. It looked good from afar and the lady eating it was daydreaming after she took her bite. For the entrees, I had the masitas fritas (fried pork chunks), they were good, but I thought my brother's plate, La Palomilla, was even better. The thin cut steak had a good flavor and size and came with sauteed onions. The rice and beans came with the plate as well as the delicious plantains. My only complaints were the beans as I thought they could be better. But still, they were good especially after I ate them the traditional style -- sprinkled with sugar on top.My other complaint would be that they only had a small menu. And at the time I had a craving for the vaca frita... and they didn't have it. :-(I wanted to have dessert, but the pastelito de guayaba and queso was gone -- they ran out for the evening I was there. But surely enough, I never ever had a bad Cuban pastelito. I would recommend others to try it out.Lunes a Sabado (Monday to Saturday) 9 am - 9 pm

I celebrated my 1 year anniversary here this weekend and I wanted to say that the service is absolutely outstanding! Executive chef, Robert Graham, was so accommodating and ensured everything was amazing for us! Chef Jason was a delight and listening to him describe each course was wonderful and his dishes were delectable! The waitstaff, Guillermo and Vilma, were a delight! The room was beautiful with a perfect view of the city. All in all, this is a wonderful place that we will be coming back to every year!
