From permission-based balanced training to specialized scent detection K-9’s and over 20 years of experience our trainers can help you with your K-9 needs. Our 35-acre farm is located in Lyles, TN, about 45 minutes West of Nashville. The K9SDS division offers both scent detection services as well as handler and K-9 training.

Karen and Thurman's Place did a fantastic job during board and train for my 4.5 month old puppy. I had to be away from home for work with short notice and Karen was prompt to help. Karen was very responsive, educational, and organized throughout the whole training session. Karen was even able to drive in to Nashville to pick up his puppy food when I was unable. What inspired you to start your own business?
In 2018 Karen, her husband and their 7 dogs moved to Lyles TN to pursue a dream of owning a farm with plenty of room to build a barn for boarding dogs and focus on balanced obedience training. Our barn makes an amazing addition to our training program and add even more space for boarding & training in addition to our countless trails, country roads, creeks, and wild life.
