How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Chef Owner Marcelo Reyes maintains a personal relationship with every client the Chef Book works with. Menus are designed to fit the specific requirements of not only the client's tastes, but also their budget.
What do you love most about your job?
What makes a chef a chef? If you know a chef, you know that they must feed people. They don't just love it, that have to do it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Owner Operator, Chef Marcelo Reyes dreamed up the project while working in a variety of top tier kitchens and observing the unutilized talents he was surrounded with. The staff he worked alongside often took the jobs they needed at the expense of their personal tastes and passions. What if you could combine all their abilities into a single entity that catered to a client base with just as wide a range of dining requirements as those personal skills encompassed?
Voilá, Chef Book was born.
Why should our clients choose you?
We've all been to wedding and corporate events where they serve.... Food. It is exactly that.
Because larger catering companies have larger overheads and maximize profits as a result, the attention to detail and passion for cooking are often removed from the equation.
Chef Book is run by top service industry professionals who were drawn to each other because of their shared beliefs on quality of both food and attention to service. We all chose to work with each other because we all understand how each other works, to the highest standard.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Started in the atmosphere of the late Pandemic, 2020 saw the closing or suspension of business in many restaurants in the Los Angeles area. Service staff were out of work en masse and clients began to realize they could have a restaurant style dining experience even if you removed the restaurant. Chef Marcelo began to gather some of his colleagues about him to work private events and found that with so many differing skill sets he was able to cater to a wider range of tastes without sacrificing quality of experience. And so began Chef Book.
As a result, Chef Book has always worked within the confines of the more stringent safety standards of the post Covid Era.
