Stillwater Catering is beyond sensational!! Roxanne and her whole crew (Alex, Charlene and Sonia) did an incredible job at my mountain wedding on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ. From the beginning, communication and planning with Roxanne was easy and fun. When it came to the big day, everything was even better than I could have imagined. So many of our friends that attended said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Everyone was talking about it the day after! The dishes were not only beautiful, they were absolutely delicious as well. The team also endured with us through extremely cold temperatures, blistering wind, rain and an episode of hail. I hired Roxanne/Stillwater Catering to cook onsite at my house for a 2nd wedding reception (1st reception was out of state). Roxanne was so easy to work with to create the perfect passed appetizers, dinner and dessert for our event. She arrived with one other lady about 5 hrs prior to event time, and once she started cooking, the house smelled amazing (prime rib)! From the appetizers to the main course, the food was absolutely delicious. It's a scary thing hiring someone that you have not used before, as you don't want to find out at your wedding reception, that the chef wasn't that great. It's been 2 weeks since Roxanne and her team catered my reception, and I still hear today how wonderful the food was and how nice and accommodating all the staff was (4 more ladies showed up later). Staff was amazing and super sweet, but honestly...the food...all the food was so delicious; I couldn't be happier. The prime rib was the best I have ever had! I can't recommend Roxanne enough, and I will definitely use her for any future events I have. More...

I have had the pleasure of enjoying her mouthwatering meals on more than a handful of occasions now, but most recently I had appetizers and dinner prepared by Roxanne of Stillwater Catering this past Friday. As always it was flavorful and delicious! Previous events have included breakfasts, lunches, appetizers, dinners, pies, cookies, cakes, other treats & desserts and things I can't even remember. It's all been handcrafted and ALL made and from SCRATCH with fresh ingredients, intention, creativity, and the purest love put in every dish!!! I've never seen someone really enjoy preparing every single part of your meal as much as she does!! Even the way she sets up the atmosphere, it's not just a meal, it's an experience! (Wishing I had taken pictures but was so in the moment I forgot!!) From the simplest of things, to things I've never seen or heard of... It's ALL amazing! With that being said, I admit I am also the pickiest of eaters and I dislike most everything!! (not proud of that) but she has been great about it and making amazing dishes for us all but including small altered versions of it for just me! But seeing how much she puts into it all, I've even branched out and tried new things with her and somehow she makes everything I usually don't like taste good to me too. I already can't wait until the next time! I'm not quite done-- it gets better! Beyond her delicious food, Roxanne herself is the sweetest and kindest person you'll encounter!! What’s your signature dish?
Mediterranean everything. Especially a Mezze platter, (Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki , feta cheese-filled grilled sweet peppers with balsamic glaze, Greek salad, vegan/vegetarian stews, kabobs, and various rice dishes. Main dishes include cedar-planked salmon with honey-mustard glaze, chicken Marbella, filet mignon with chimichurri, pork chile verde with fresh tomatillo sauce, and yellow Thai curry with tofu or meat.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Talk to the Chef! The chef needs to know the details of your event and how much you are willing to spend. Once we have set your expectations, we can discuss menu options, style of service, location etc.
What do you love most about your job?
Crafting unique menus and dishes that reflect both my style and the client's vision is incredibly fulfilling. It allows me to constantly explore new flavors, ingredients, and techniques. Food has the power to bring people together, whether it's at a wedding, corporate event, or small gathering. The joy I bring to others through food is immensely rewarding. Each event presents a new challenge, requiring adaptability and problem-solving, from intimate dinners to large-scale celebrations, which keeps the work dynamic and exciting
What inspired you to start your own business?
After culinary school, I worked for wineries, restaurants, caterers and retreat centers in Northern California. Catering large events, whether in a building or a farm field, challenged me to scale a food service operation and maintain the quality of food I cook at home. I achieved this competence, started my business and was rewarded by customers who loved the food I serve. I also found joy in cooking for retreats (spiritual, sports, educational) where the diversity of the daily menus is a key objective and the retreat duration (3-11 days) taxes the endurance of the kitchen crew.

Yes, Stillwater Catering does go remote. Group events have been held in farm fields, barns and estates, sometimes requiring a field kitchen under a tent to be rented for on-site preparation. Retreats have been catered in Arizona, California, and North Carolina.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Our Standard Operating Procedure requires all employees to stay home if they feel unwell, and if they begin to feel sick at work, to go home. We always have backup staff. Also, if the pandemic ramps back up, we will perform temperature checks and ask wellness questions before employees enter the kitchen. Under those conditions, masks, face shields, skull caps, handwashing, disposable gloves, aprons and jackets/or long sleeve shirts approved kitchen wear (cleaned & disinfected after each shift) may be required. Kitchen hygiene includes cleaning and sanitizing workstations throughout the day. Contactless payment system, curbside and delivery can be arranged. Disposable biodegradable food containers and service ware can also be arranged. Please contact me if you have questions.
Party On Your Plate!
Ever want to throw a party without the conventional buffet or plated meal? If you want to stoke a party for maximum moseying and mingling, we offer a Party On Your Plate, where guests are offered a continuous feeding of appetizers, grazing boards and small bites. Some appetizers are passed through the crowd by servers, small plates of meat, chicken or fish may be served at a staffed expo station and other food is on platters for self-service.
