Used for a large, co-Ed baby shower. Communication beforehand was great. Payment was super easy and Sam was accommodating with our changing amount of RSVPs. The two servers that came to the event were very attentive and cared about the experience. We had a lunch special with salad, roasted vegetables, baked ziti, lemon chicken, and tri tip carving station. Everything was good, except the tri tip carving station (which is typically the highlight of the food experience). The meat was essentially inedible. The plasticware provided to cut the meat kept snapping, since the meat was so tough it could not be cut. You could not even bite through it if you picked it up and tried with your teeth. Did contact owner, who blamed plasticware supplied, but it was clearly a meat issue - as supported by all guests surveyed. NO ONE could even chew it. Owner made zero attempts to accommodate this after being informed . Hopefully was an isolated incident, but would think twice about ordering that if reading this. Would not use again. More...

I am a Lifestyle Coordinator and I contracted with Startup’s Catering for our Independence Day Party today. We had 190 guests and everyone was very happy with the food and service. The entire team of staff were amenable to our suggestions for a smooth and organized buffet line. The food was outstanding, fresh and well seasoned. The staff served all 190 guests in just under 45 minutes. We have a small kitchen on site that the team used for prep and storage during the event. They cleaned everything up and removed all of their belongings in a timely manner. The team left four hotel pans of food for community staff and any late comers to the party. We will definitely us Startup’s Catering again in the future. More...

The food was great, we had no complaints on the food, everything leading up to the event went well and they responded in a timely fashion as well as having good communication. However, the day of our wedding went a little different and honestly was extremely disappointing. We had 100 guests, which from the start the catering company was aware of this. Unfortunately, before the reception, we noticed they ran out of utensils (they miscalculated what they bought and even told my dad this) then, they ran out of plates in the middle of dinner and had to use the churches styrofoam plates.(Which it is not easy or appropriate to cut prime rib on) Not to mention they used the churches items and did not replace them. When asked how they ran out of plates, he gave excuses saying they must have been used on the appetizer table (they were not, they had small plates for the appetizer table) Lastly, by the end of the night they ran out of cups. And again had to use little styrofoam cups. The Caterer kept saying it was little fixes and no big deals and that they went over and beyond to help us so that the plate, utensils and cup thing should not be a big deal. (I ask the servers to bring out a bottle of Sparkling cider to each table that I payed for... I don’t recommend asking them for special requests). These were all things we paid for in our package and were let down on... however, the biggest disappointment and thing I’m actually disgusted over is they told us from the start there would be left overs for us. The owner stated that they add into the price of the catering 15-20% more of what is asked of to make sure there is enough and left overs. When I went to check at the end of the night in the kitchen (full professional kitchen with lots of fridge space) there was no food. When I asked the owner the next day where the food was, this was his text “Apologies about the plate mix up. As for food. I sent the food to my employees house to hold. He lives pretty near. We didn’t know where u wanted it We had 1 beef left. Mashed potatoes Pan of dumplings / pot stickers. I can ask him to bring it to the church. And put it in the fridge”. He sent the food home with one of his workers and did not tell us until we asked. That is disgusting and unprofessional. When asked why he did this he stated he could not find anyone to ask. (We were all outside the whole night, including my mother and father which he knew he could ask questions to). He made excuses for all these things and then told us “most people are happy there was enough food”. We PAID for the 15-20% extra and he sent it home with a random worker to his own personal house. His reimbursement after all this was done, absolutely was a joke and does not cover the amount of food lost not to mention to nice table ware we did not receive. More...
