We spent some time looking for the right DJ since we had some very specific music requests involving several live performances interspersed with recorded music. We felt great about Scott immediately after our first meeting with him due to his organization and great attitude. He made it very easy to share documents back and forth to make us feel so confident that the flow of the evening would go exactly the way we envisioned. Scott was a joy to work with! We had multiple zoom calls to get to know each other, he provided a list of his song library for us to mark songs we liked for him to get a vibe. His library of songs was very extensive, meeting requirements for the ceremony, cocktail hr, dinner, and dancing. Scott is highly professional, organized, and helpful when deciding on both the flow of events and what types of songs would work for each moment. He was very knowledgeable of our venue’s unique rules, the Seymour Center, and handled these with ease. The entire night went so smoothly, and I thought he did a particularly great job transitioning the music from more jazzy cocktail hour selections to adjusting the vibe later in the evening to keep the dance floor popular. We had the best time working with Scott to make our wedding special. We just kind of clicked with him right away. He played what we wanted, followed what we had in mind, but kept it loose. The sound at our outdoor ceremony was great. Great communicator and quick to respond to email. We had some elements of our wedding that were particular (birthday shoutouts, an alternative bouquet/garter toss, etc.), and he rolled with the punches and kept it all running smoothly. We were also looking for a DJ who had a personality, but didn't ham it up too much, which was exactly what we got. A total pleasure to work with and would recommend him to anyone. Scott was our DJ for our wedding. He did such an amazing job leading up to the event and on the event itself. He’s super helpful and extremely responsive, which really helped us during such a busy time. He was able to accommodate all of our needs and was super professional through the entire process. From the very first phone call to saying goodbye at the end of the wedding, Scott was nothing short of awesome. He was beyond nice, professional and helpful. Scott was fantastic to work with! He made it easy for us to plan out our wedding day music with his spreadsheet of songs and was sure to play our "must haves" during our big day. We also are so grateful he pointed out that we were missing ceremony sound, and we were able to add that to our contract before the event. Planning a wedding means working with a bunch of different vendors and putting a lot of faith in people to make your special day go smoothly. Scott was the vendor we never had to worry about, because he was always so on top of things and it was such a relief. The DJ Music Packet he made was one of the planning tools that really made us feel like our wedding was coming to life. It made us feel organized and excited to get those details planned and once we sent that info over to Scott, he took care of the rest. A goal for our wedding was to keep the dance floor hoppin all night. All our friends love a good party, and that's what DJ Scott provided us. He played all the hits that kept people of all ages on the dance floor. He was very prepared in all our meetings and helped guide us through the wedding process. Day of, frankly, we barely talked to him except to thank him immensely at the end of the night. He was so well prepared. Because of the planning meetings with him and discussions on timeline, he integrated with the venue staff and was able to chaperone the ceremony and reception through a beautiful evening. He was quick to provide insurance for the venue when asked and even incorporated a few extra song requests so we could perform some of our choreographed dances! My partner and I reached out to a few different DJs on our venue’s list of preferred vendors. DJ Scott Trugman was one of the first that responded and the first we talked with. Based on the many glowing reviews other clients had written for DJ Trug, I had a good feeling about him. After the initial phone call, we knew that he was the right DJ for us. Scott is humble, funny, and an attentive listener – he cared about our vision for our wedding and it felt like he cared about us as people as well. We half-heartedly talked with another DJ or two but quickly decided to end the search because DJ Trug was clearly the best fit. Throughout the planning process, DJ Trug was professional and organized. He shared a master list of available songs and lists of songs he had played at previous events for inspiration. He also collected our wedding schedule and the names (and name pronunciations) of everyone in the processional so that he would be prepared to make the appropriate announcements. We had some unconventional song requests (one of our friends makes his own music which we wanted to play), and DJ Trug worked with us to make it happen. His flexibility and willingness to accommodate our requests made our wedding even more special for us and our friends! On our wedding day, DJ Trug arrived at the venue before we did (and we got there early ourselves!) and was set up and ready to go in time for the event. In addition to playing all of the songs we requested right on cue, he also gracefully handled impromptu announcements, smoothly delivering the messages more eloquently than I could have done myself. His many years of experience really shone in his execution! As far as we could tell, there were no audio issues, and the volume was just right all night long. (I dislike when music is played so loud that you have to yell to converse with people right next to you; thankfully that was not so at our wedding.) This is one of those things that’s easy to take for granted because it seems so basic, but it’s also so fundamentally important! During the bouquet toss, I was utterly confused about when to actually toss the bouquet – I couldn’t tell if the ladies were still getting into position and my photographer was trying to give me instructions on how the pictures would be taken, so I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thankfully, DJ Trug seemed to notice my hesitation, and he smoothly jumped in with a “we’ll do the bouquet toss on the count of 3, one, two, three…”. That was a lifesaver, thank you!! I really appreciate how DJ Trug is so attentive to details. Although our wedding got slightly off schedule towards the latter half, DJ Trug reassured us that there was no rush, he would be there when we were ready to move on to the next scheduled activity, and we should take our time and really take in the moment. It was great advice – time seems to speed up at weddings, and the whole event can go by in the blink of an eye. I definitely needed the reminder to relax and just be present in the moment. Many of our guests also complimented our DJ’s music choices, and the dance floor was packed for much of the evening! Everyone had a great time, and DJ Trug’s skills played a huge role in making that happen. We couldn’t have been happier with our DJ selection – it was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We hired Scott for our wedding in early November 2022, and it was one of our best decisions! Look no further - you've found your DJ. There is absolutely no one more kind, responsive, professional, or fun than Scott. He replies to inquiries incredibly quickly, is beyond organized and *very* reasonably priced, but most of all, he puts on a GREAT party.
