I am a fine artist, having been painting professionally since 2001. I specialize in a unique mixed media combination of refractured watercolor (I had the term recognized by the international Kolaj magazine in 2016), poetry and acrylic. Yes - I'm also a poet and all the words in the paintings are my own. I also do commissions of (almost) all kinds in oil, acrylic or watercolor; sky/sea/landscapes, pet portraits, concepts, abstract - and yes this includes poetry, either in the painting or you can commission a poem. For remote commissions I can easily work by email and mail to complete something to your ideas, and with your desired colors. I also do murals in the Imperial County-Coachella Valley region of California. Lastly I teach a beginning painting 1-day workshop at several venues in the same area, or in the Inland Empire, High Desert and Yuma and willing to go most of Southern California for a full roster. There's no class like it!

It was an epiphany: it was time to paint again. I had wanted to be a painter and poet as a child, but academic life got in the way. I could no longer hold it in. It's how I can give joy and serenity to those whose lives I touch.
I love working with people and bringing their vision, idea, thought, memory or desire to life. It brings to mind the question 'Do you live to paint, or paint to live?' My answer would be that I live to paint, but I don't paint simply for myself, I paint for others, so my creations are not meant to be held inside but to go out to others and bring joy to them.
For my studio work I use a unique mixed media style, but for commissions I also work in more traditional styles and mediums so my clients are not limited. I have painted such diverse subjects as a plant cared for by a son who had passed, the soul of a house and the words of a song.
I write poetry for my studio paintings and can do so for yours - or I can just write a poem if you need one to say something for a special occasion!
