What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Taking the time to get to know my clients has always helped me get great results. Selfies aside, having your photo taken by a professional can seem like a pretty intimidating experience, so my main aim is to help my clients relax, be themselves and have some fun with the experience!

Meeting and spending time with all kinds of people, exploring the local area, coming up with creative ways to bring joy to my customers and spending all day doing what I'm most passionate about!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been working in the photographic and printing industry for over 25 years, earning my stripes at Getty Images in London in the late 90's. I got heavily into shooting landscape and art photography after moving to New Zealand in 2006, and won several awards for my work. I moved to Christchurch with my family a couple of years ago, and made the decision to finally follow my passion and start my own photography business - with a view to making new connections, seeing new places and immersing myself in our wonderful city!
Why should our clients choose you?
My mum didn’t name me after Elton John.
On my final school report the headmaster wrote “Elton is something of a maverick character”. I liked that.
I got my first SLR camera in 1985, and have used a Mac since 1991.
I'm pretty funny and very easy to get along with.
I spent 5 years as digital production manager for Getty Images.
I live to make people laugh, dance and generally have a good time.
I’m allergic to desk jobs.
I met the love of my life, AJ, at a gig in London and moved to NZ in 2006.
Our two boys (8 & 9) spend too long playing video games. I wonder where they got that from!
My heroes are: Stevie Wonder, Steve Jobs, Sir Norman Jay, Martin Scorsese, David Bailey, Glen Hoddle and my dad.
