Special shout out to Hunter and the team at Aqaba! I’ve been coming here for over 29 years! Always good food, beautiful and warm decor and the bowl of hot chocolate still comes with little chocolate fish! I have two young kids who enjoy hot chocolates and iced chocolates and plenty for them to eat on the menu too! These days I utilities Aqaba for my business meetings, so a special treat today to have a chat with owner Barbara Taniyama! Barabara is also the owner of the Yatai Japanese restaurant I ate at, in 2003! If you want somewhere warm, to have a business meeting, family lunch or dinner, or just a catch up with friends in a nice place, Aqaba is my pick in Palmerston North! More...

Food was awful. Partners steak was not cooked medium it was rare as anything. And I already feel sick from the curry. Not once have I complained about a restaurant but this needs to be done. The lovely wait staff apologised for the food, but it was not their fault. Never again More...

Just awful. Went tonight for a birthday dinner so did not have a choice in venue, will never come again. This was the third time the food has been bad, raw meat, cold, salads with no dressing, poor kitchen management and service. Waited 1.5 hours for food and two people from our table received their meals once the rest of us had finished. The menu is limited therefore SHOULD be cooked perfectly. Meals are small and over priced. The waiters did not check on our table to see how our meals were and if they did, they could of picked up on faults earlier without it escalating.
