The Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre

The hotel was great all round. Rachel who greeted us when we checked in was a delight, as were all of the other staff we dealt with. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with great views of the water. The bar is nice and cosy, and the food in the hotel was delicious. Their leisure centre is great too. This hotel is in a great location for exploring Lough Derg and the surrounding countryside. Will be recommending to anyone travelling to Killaloe/Ballina or anyone looking for an enjoyable short break. Thanks to all of the staff. More...

When I was required to spend longer time than expected on a project in the Lough Derg area, and to require a quiet room in which to do drawing and analysis, Lakeside came through with a very comfortable room in the quiet wing of the building. Okay , it does'nt happen often or at least hasn't happened me often, but this has to be one of the best , actually no , this is the best Hotel i have ever stayed in , and here's why, lets start with the basics , when you turn up at a hotel that you haven't stayed in before and the person who checks you in ( Hassan in this case ) welcomes you with a warm smile and a genuine delightedness that you are here that is where your experience starts ! !!! The staff in this hotel are the type of people that you instantly remember their names and they yours , they just cant do enough for you to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. I was so lucky to find the Lakeside Hotel online as it is 20 km or so from Limerick and I didn’t want to stay in the city. |The receptionist was incredibly welcoming and gave me a room upgrade to a room with a view of the Shannon. |The room was very large, beautifully decorated, super comfy and enormous bed. The big bay windows with window seats had a wonderful view. The room is actually much nicer than the images on the hotel’s website and spotless. |In addition there was still & sparking water, Nespresso machine, kettle, my favourite Walkers shortbread biscuits & a mini box of Lily O’Brien chocolates. |I arrived late, so never had a chance to use the leisure centre. This was my 4th time staying at the Lakeside hotel. I got one of the new lakeside rooms which are absolutely stunning! Amazing views over the lake. Food was good and location was stunning. Definitely would recommend this hotel. Suitable for everyone! I’ve stayed here a few years ago with my family (2 adults 2 kids ) and we had a great time. The kids loved the pool. Myself and partner stayed here mid week for a night. It was a very last minute decision but the people that I spoke to in the hotel advised it was no problem at all. |On arrival I was advised our room had been upgraded. The room was lovely and so clean and fresh. It had everything we could possibly need, even down to a fan and dressing gowns for us. The chocolates were a lovely touch and really went down well. |We ate in the bar where all I can say is that the food is so fresh and delicious I'm already planning my next trip, for the dinner alone! |I will absolutely be back for another night! The hotel was lovely, the staff were very pleasant and friendly. The location was beautiful, and the interior and exterior were both kept to a high standard. The only thing I would ask is that the soft furnishings and linens in the bedrooms are closer monitored, it was a blip, not a lower standard, I am sure. There was nothing majorly wrong but in hotels it's the bed that is most used, so clean linens and soft furnishings upon arrival to the room are most important to this guest. We as a family always enjoy our stay at the Lakeside Hotel. The location is beautiful. The service and staff are great. Our teenage girls love the pool with the indoor slide. It is a lovely relaxing place.

I would first of all like to say from arriving been booked in and made feel so welcome and having a lovely warm bedroom to come into to having superb food in the restaurant with great views and the breakfast was brilliant as my ten year old son got his favourite pan cakes and the leisure facilities were the best i have experienced in a irish hotel as my son had a great time going down the long slide to checking out. ||We will definitely be back also will bring our extended family members and friends as it is just a lovely relaxing hotel.||Regards John Minogue More...

Stayed here last week||Got a lovely upgrade to the waterfront rooms. Rooms absolutely beautiful overlooking the River. Pity the weather was poor. Lovely porter brought our bags to the room and told us about the hotel and local area. ||Went for dinner that evening. We were brought to a lovely area just off the bar. Room was lovely food was lovely but unfortunately I felt we were a bit forgotten about in this room. We were left waiting a long time between courses and tea and coffee didn't arrive until 20 minutes after the dessert. Maybe they were understaffed as the bar seemed busy I'm not sure. Lovely place right on Lough Derg (The Red Lake). The last lake on the River Shannon - the longest river in the British Isles is absolutely beatyiful. The drop in water height between this lake and the tidal part of the Shannon River at Limerick City allowed the Irish Government to build a very unique Hydro Station at Partney. It is well worth a visit (tour) of the generating station (daily) as it was unusual for its day.
