MIA photographer Moe did a shoot of my family this summer. I wasnt expecting what I got from the groupon... He has a great personality that brought the BEST out in my family, from my 1 month old grandson to the oldest member whose well over 50. The experience was awesome and the results were spectacular. Our experience with Moe was amazing! We contacted him with short notice- the day of- as we decided the day after we got engaged to get engagement photos done on the beach while we were still on vacation. He responded promptly and he gave us a very reasonable quote. During our shoot, it was clear that he had done many shoots on the beach before as he knew exactly how to direct us. He was also very open to us suggesting our own poses/requests, and even extended our shoot a bit to make sure that we caught the best colors of sunset. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Comfort. Being able to quickly establish a rapport with clients is key to taking a great photograph. This is reflected in their actions, their poses and the photographs. It is being playful, or confident, being intimate, or vulnerable, but always relaxed. I don't like stiff photographs, those are from an era gone by. I enjoy learning about people, listening to their stories, both as a photographer but also as an academic. I have an degree in sociology and working on a graduate degree in social research at Trinity College. Exploring and enjoying all that is Dublin and Ireland.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What kind of photographs do you expect? Send me some samples, from anywhere, pinterest or instagram perhaps. In most cases clients have already looked at my galleries and have seen and fallen in love with poses and styles in photographs I've already taken. Basically I want to know what the client expects from a good photograph, or from the experience of the photoshoot, so I can provide exactly that. I can shoot for a variety of styles and am an expert editor. I strive to showcase my clients in the best possible light and can subtly retouch an image to soften their skins-make it appear smoother, remove blemishes and dark circles under their eyes, whiten their teeth a few shades, enhance the eyes...
What do you love most about your job?
I love the interaction, I am a very social person, who has an interest in people, getting to know them, their stories, sharing moments and memories with them. The photographs they will cherish will recall the moment, bring back the feelings, and perhaps memories of me. Being a photographer at a wedding is being heavily involved, sharing the joy and happiness of the couple, helping to set the mood and capture the moments they will treasure for a lifetime.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was first inspired by photography in high school, in Long Island, just outside of New York City. I volunteered to be the photographer for the school newspaper. Once I took the first shot with that camera, a nikon that was obsolete even back then--twenty years ago--I fell in love. I became a pro many years later, after a career in corporate, government and non-profit management in New York and Washington, DC.
It was in 2014 that I started MiA Photo Design in South Florida, when my daughter was a few months old. I purchased another old, but professional-grade Nikon, to capture the precious moments of her childhood, and began getting photography gigs through friends and family-word of mouth. Their positive feedback encouraged me to offer my services professionally. I have received several awards and hundreds of reviews from satisfied customers over the last 5 years and I hope for many more in the future!

Weddings
I strive to provide clients with an amazing wedding photography experience, with high quality images that are creative, clean and crisp. I aim to capture the romance, fun, and emotional moments that will become treasured memories that will last a lifetime. I am a documental photographer and catalogue the entire day-the dressing, bridal portraits, ceremony and reception with hints of fashion and fine-art photography techniques.
Portraits
The days of stiff, posed studio portraits are long gone! Today, individual and client families prefer a photos that shows them as they really are: smiling and happy, without looking forced. I aim to capture genuine, emotional images. Capturing the client and groups in ways that appear spontaneous and candid is what I strive to do.
Events
Perfect for sweet sixteens, christening, graduation parties and other milestone events. This package also works for corporate events like conferences, trade shows, marketing events, product launches and other public relations events, ad employee functions like retirement parties, company picnics and holiday parties and receptions.
