What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Audit, accounting, taxation (income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, capital acquisitions tax, VAT, stamp duty etc), retirement planning, company secretarial work.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Developing a relationship with an accountant is very important because the accountant is key to your business. Without the right advice, you may end up with the wrong structure which will ultimately cost you a lot of additional tax. A good accountant will keep you compliant with the Revenue Commissioners and with the Companies Registration Office, and will have your back at all times.
What do you love most about your job?
One of the things I most enjoy about my job is when I know that I have been able to help my client to achieve something. Perhaps it is a tax refund which he or she is entitled to that is really needed, it is very satisfactory to be able to help someone in this way. Or to advise on how someone can save a lot of money by availing of a tax relief which he or she was not aware of. Generally completing a client's set of accounts and getting them sent out and finished for the year gives a good sense of satisfaction, knowing that we have done a good job.
