What inspired you to start your own business?

Hi I'm Sara, owner and founder of Sara’s House of Cupcakes, a business I started after rediscovering my passion for cake making. I've always enjoyed baking from a young age but never persued this passion until after my two lovely boys came along. I began by making cakes for their birthdays and found myself making cakes for friends and families too. Before I knew it, Sara's House of Cupcakes was born! From that moment, my passion for cake design was ignited and my exciting journey into the cake decorating world began. It gives me great pleasure to see the smile on the recipient face, it makes all the late nights and hard work worth it!

Why should our clients choose you?

Our passion is to create beautiful bespoke cakes that will be the centerpiece of your celebration and to make you feel that your cake has been handcrafted with love. Sara’s attention to detail is impeccable and will remain the same whether it is a five tier spectacular wedding cake to a small box of cupcakes. We will work closely with you to create the perfect cake that is not only visually stunning and will wow your guest but will also please their tastebuds too! We are passionate about creating the perfect cake for your event and hope you feel inspired by our cake designs. We look forward to creating a memorable cake for your special occasion.

It’s best to order your wedding cake as early as possible. The best wedding cake bakers will get booked up quickly, so it’s never too soon to get your wedding cake booked in, especially if you’re hoping for a specific baker. Summer is particularly popular for weddings, so you may find that dates get booked up more quickly for summer weddings.

Most wedding cake bakers will offer a cake tasting session. This gives you an opportunity to meet your wedding cake baker, talk to them about your ideas for your cake design and sample some of the flavours on offer. Your wedding cake tasting should be booked for about six months before your wedding day to allow you to finalise the design of your cake and to choose your flavours.

Traditionally, a wedding cake has three tiers. The bottom tier is said to be for eating at the wedding, while the middle tier is for giving to friends and family after the wedding. The top tier is traditionally saved for the christening of the first child. Today, wedding cakes can be any number of tiers – and you can eat as much of them as you like!
