Child Therapy Service

East Sussex

The Child Therapy Service exists to promote and facilitate the emotional health and well-being of young children and families in Eastbourne. Our services provide a holistic wraparound approach that will reach not only children and their families, but also the professionals who are involved with them. Whether the service you require is for a specific child or to meet the needs of children within a professional setting, the Child Therapy Service can help. Most children will experience emotional difficulties at some point during their development, and with care and support they can usually be helped through these difficult times. However, sometimes children need additional help, particularly if they have experienced a significant life changing event or trauma. Parents and carers, teachers and other professionals involved with the care of children, should be alert to changes in the child's behaviour. It is important that the behaviour itself is not seen as the problem, it is merely the child's answer to the underlying problem. The Child Therapy Service uses a variety of approaches, such as Play Therapy, Sensory Integration, Creative Arts Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapies. We will sensitively work with families to find the approach that is most suited to their child's needs.
