My wife and I could not be happier with our choice for our big day in November. MakeLightWork were flawless and - apparently - grotesquely under-priced! Not that I complained at the time of course. I assume this is because they are a fairly newly established operation looking to make a name for themselves. We found Vanessa at a Wedding Event hosted by the Lysses - the venue we actually ended up picking - and the samples spoke for themselves.
Mike and Vanessa were as friendly as they were professional. They were completely transparent throughout the day so we didn't notice them doing what they do, they provided a huge number of professional quality high resolution photos without watermarks (even the previews received before payment weren't marked), they were able to converse with all our guests in a subtle but efficient manner and the combination of Mike's warmly commanding presence and Vanessa's stealthy and intuitive "stalker shots" gave us a brilliant variety of real photos that fully documented our special day.
They were just so easy to work with that they made our big day go more smoothly, and all the little bits and pieces we didn't even think of... they did. Whenever I asked them to look after something during the day they were totally competent and I had complete trust in them both. A poor photographer would really prove a problem, but this was thankfully not the case.
With all the shots in my possession I am pleased to say we have all the shot types we wanted including specifically requested artistic shots as well as the standard shots of key moments. We opted for an additional hard back album which they put together and it too was excellent value. We'll be ordering a few more for family.
In general communication was excellent too. Minor alterations' were done for us at no extra charge. Previews were made available over FTP but we were offered physical media too. High res shots came on DVD. Nothing was ever too much work for them.

I cannot stress enough just how amazing Nicola and her company are! She knows her stuff and is such a genuinely nice person, which helps make everything seem so easy. Solent Sky Services carried out a building survey with written guidance and advice when works were needed on my flat which is in a listed building. Most helpful, efficient and professional. I'm certain that it helped all the residents to save money when getting estimates from builders as we knew exactly what the issues were. Also being a golfer I enjoyed chatting with Mike about his aerial golf course surveying which I'm sure will also reduce costs for golf clubs in terms of identifying the precise areas where chemicals and fertilisers are required. No hesitation in recommending Mike who is a qualified building surveyor and licensed and insured drone pilot and an all round great guy.

We capture things as they unfold to tell the unique story of your day. We’ll blend in with your guests (like undercover agents) and capture all the best stuff. In fact, most of the time you won’t even know we’re there. So laugh, cry, drink and dance – we’ll be there to capture it all!
I think what I love most about my job is enabling people to relive the most important days of their life. A Wedding day can go so fast and often there are lots of reactions and moments that the couple might not see in the moment, so it's great to be able give them an opportunity to see that. Another thing is getting amazing feedback from our couples when they see their film and hearing how much it means to them to have captured those memories. It never fails to be a feel-good moment for me and makes all of the hard work worthwhile.
I studied film-making at University and after graduating I wanted to pursue a career that enabled me to be creative with film. I've been making wedding films since 2010, initially just for friends and family to gain experience and build a portfolio but then things really took off and it has become my full time career.
To date we have filmed well over 100 weddings all across Britain including ones in Edinburgh, Anglesey, Plymouth and Carlisle.....pretty crazy considering I'm based in Portsmouth!....but hey, it's a great way to see the country and spend your time with lots of smiling people...plus we LOVE a road trip!
I try to be as honest and communicative as I can with couples. For most of them it's the first time they have organised a wedding so I try to be as helpful as I can. It's a very competitive industry and you have to be flexible, no wedding and no couple are the same so I pride myself on being able to adapt to the needs of my couples.
We like to operate in a very relaxed and natural way throughout the wedding day, in our experience the last thing a couple need on their big day is pushy video guys asking them to constantly pose. Our background is in documentary film so we specialize in capturing those little moments the couple may miss while blending into the background and being as invisible as we can.
