‘20 Certificate of Excellence

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, working exclusively online. I am a certified member of the BACP (Registered member no. 374847) and a member of CAPPP. My counselling approach is integrative, meaning that I combine a number of different theoretical methodologies. I am able to adapt my technique and approach to suit individual clients and their therapeutic aims. At the core of my work is a person centred way of working. I believe that the counselling relationship should be based upon mutual trust and respect. I seek to provide a space that is non-judgemental and empathetic, where you can feel safe to explore things you may not want to speak about with others. I also work relationally - often the way we interact within the therapeutic relationship can reflect patterns of relating from outside of the counselling room. Recognising and exploring this can offer us new insights. This may lead us to working psychodynamically - looking back at your past to find the root of unhelpful patterns or feelings. I particularly enjoy working neuroscientifically. Understanding how our brains work and the way we evolved can be extremely helpful, particularly when it feels that our bodies are somehow 'betraying' us. Symptoms such as stress and anxiety can be very uncomfortable, yet understanding why our bodies are responding in this way can offer us new levels of understanding and freedom. No matter the theories or techniques used, the aim of counselling is to facilitate change. Together we will work to discover what this might mean for you, and I will support you on your journey towards it.

What do you love most about your job?

I find my work as a counsellor endlessly fascinating, as no two clients are ever the same. It is so fulfilling to see clients become more empowered as we work together, and start to take more control of their wellbeing and how they want to be in the world - most of my clients start to see a shift in around 6 sessions.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have worked many jobs on my journey to becoming a counsellor - from waitress to postman to shopkeeper and so on. One thing I found in many of these roles is the pressure that so many people are put under these days to give more and more to their work. Reclaiming more balance in our lives is often a key part of reclaiming our wellbeing, and working as a counsellor has enabled me to do this.

Why should our clients choose you?

While I would love people to come to me its important that each person feel empowered to find a counsellor that feels right for them - research shows that the counsellor client relationship is one of the key factors in whether or not therapy is successful.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
