I have worked with mental health issues within the public sector of Social Services and National Health service since 1988. From then on I developed a keen interest in how people overcome the difficulties they had and how psychotherapy in particular can help them get better. I undertook my core training in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regents College and then continued as a psychodynamic counsellor with Kings College working at Guys Hospital. I hold medical qualifications in Hypnotherapy at advanced practitioner level gained from The London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, the only college in the country which trains medical practitioners. I have a Master of Science degree in the treatment and diagnosis of mental health issues from Kings College in conjunction with Guys Hospital London. Over the years I have supplemented those initial qualifications with training in numerous other schools of psychotherapy, making me now a very experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist. I have a keen interest in how our minds influence our bodies, working with severe trauma and the ways people can overcome all manner of adversity, cultural differences in how we express distress and discovering what works to make people feel better. An Integrative Therapist is one that treats each client as a unique individual and rather than attempting to use only one style of therapy, will use a wide range of tried and tested techniques to reach an effective resolution for the client in the shortest time possible. I pay exceptionally close attention to understanding you and your view of the world. I bring empathy, kindness, wisdom, humility, humour when appropriate and a vast amount of measured experience to your sessions. My work is client – focussed, and often life changing. I am a senior accredited member of the National Council of Psychotherapists accredited by the Complementary and National Healthcare Council CNHC which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for health and social care. I am also a full accredited member of the British Society of Cinical Hypnosis. All of these have a clear code of conduct, confidentiality and clear ethics which can be viewed online. I also hold full public indemnity insurance. Working with me involves starting with a free half hour session to see if I am the right person for you. Contact me today via email, telephone 01932 702 662, contact form, or online booking to arrange your initial session.
