People come to therapy for a variety of reasons, each being individual and unique to them. You may find yourself struggling with life generally, wondering how you can cope, or trying to find a meaning to your own existence. Alternatively, you may be suffering one of the following: depression, stress, anxiety, relationship problems, bereavement, low self-esteem, abuse, trauma or one of the many other problems that can affect our quality of life. Whatever your problem, can talking help you? We have all heard of the saying “A problem shared is a problem halved”, and that's what I'm here for. I specialise working with couples experiencing relationship issues. I started my career working within human resources before spending many years at home raising my children. I then took the scary step of retraining as a counsellor at Greenwich University, which was something I had wanted to do for many years. The thing that had held me back was fear. Many people find fear debilitating, and maybe I can help you conquer your fear? I am a qualified Psychotherapist/Counsellor (registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) working within an integrated person-centred approach with my clients, and working at their pace. Do you feel misunderstood by your family and friends or unable to talk to anyone about how you truly feel? What if someone asks you “how are you?” Do you answer “fine” or “okay”, but inside you are feeling far from fine? The first step to changing how you feel is to contact me and have a brief chat on the phone. You can then decide if we could work together and make an appointment with me. I have experience of working with clients with all kinds of mental health conditions including depression, stress and anxiety, elderly clients, clients with disabilities, carers and domestic abuse victims. I have also counselled people suffering bereavement. This is not an exhaustive list, it just gives you a flavour of some of my client experiences. I currently hold enhanced DBS certificates as well as working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Age UK Surrey, and Sight for Surrey charities. Due to Covid I am currently working via Zoom. “Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends”. What do you love most about your job?

What I most like about my job is meeting a variety of people and hoping helping them to deal with their life issues more effectively

Why should our clients choose you?

Previous client have found me easy yo talk to and supportive as stated in the following testimonials: "Sheila helped myself and my husband both individually and together through couples therapy. We both found Sheila instantly easy to speak to and caring, especially my husband who had no previous experience of therapy and was very sceptical. Thank you so much, Sheila for helping us work through and understand some of our issues and for giving us the tools to address these in the future."

"I have been seeing Sheila since April this year after a traumatic bereavement. I was extremely nervous and anxious about bereavement counselling and didn’t know what to expect. However after my friend recommended Sheila’s services I was willing to try anything to help the pain. I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done, Sheila was so welcoming and put me at ease within minutes of meeting her. I was able to open up and relax and she made my feelings seem completely normal. It is a safe and comforting room with full privacy which helps with any anxiety you may have. Sheila has changed my life, I can not recommend her enough."

"Sheila is so kind. She is very patient and listens intently to every you say. What I really appreciate about Sheila is that she asks all the right questions to help you to learn so much more about yourself and the journey you are on. Sheila has also giving me some brilliant tips and advice on how to control my anxious feelings and to learn how to deal with them. Thank you Sheila."
