What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Preparation is key, for example when taking promotional photos, little details about the set matter a lot. Taking time to choose correct time of day to achieve optimal lighting, decluttering the background or preparing the product being photographed is the difference between a great photo, and a fantastic one. Once the person or object being photographed is looking the best they can and the environment is matching, taking an incredible photo is much easier. Choosing the correct equipment and understanding how it works is the next essential step. In my 15 years experience of photography, I have learned how to use the equipment effectively to achieve a specific look or feel to the photo to match the clients requirements. Finally, providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere is perhaps the most important factor when photographing people or animals. I always work hard to make the photography sessions a fun and friendly experience for everyone involved :)

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

I will always have a informal chat with the client to best understand their exact requirements. It is important that the style of the photograph suits the use case! I will want to know how the photos will be used, for example are they professional headshots? Or product photos for your online store? Are you looking for that one special large format photo to print on a canvas and hang in your new house? All of these will influence how we will go about getting you the most amazing photos you will love.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the creativity of photography and I love how it can bring so much joy to people. There is nothing better than revisiting cherished moments through photo albums or seeing your pets in joyful photos on your bedroom wall. I also love how professional product photography can help extremely talented artists achieve their dream of setting up a self employed business and making their first online sales. I see photography as a tool that connects people.

Why should our clients choose you?

I will offer a friendly service tailored to your needs. Message or call me for a no obligation chat about your project, whatever it may be!

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes! I can provide photo editing and selection from photos you may already have. For certain projects such as product photography, you can send me the item to be photographed from anywhere, I will deliver the professional photos to you digitally, and if you provide a return label, I will post your product back to you. As always, if you are unsure, just drop me a line and we will discuss it :)
