I am a fully qualified clinical Naturopathic Nutritionist. I have a special interest in autoimmune diseases; indeed I have personal experience of what it takes to overcome one of the most common conditions that affect so many. I also specialise in ageing diseases including dementia, women's health and gut health. I use a combination of functional, natural, integrative, and personalised naturopathic nutritional therapy to help my clients feel at their absolute best. My approach helps the body find balance and the way back to optimal health. I adopt a functional medicine approach. I do not treat the disease; I treat the whole person and I passionately believe in the healing power of food. There are many drivers in chronic diseases: diet, toxins, pathogens, stress, lifestyle and environment. Often, it's a combination of all of these things that leads to a chronic health condition and it takes a treatment plan addressing all of them to reclaim optimal health. Your genetic make-up is not the be-all and end-all; even if you have the genetic predisposition to a chronic disease, it doesn't mean you can't take a different path. About me I started my Naturopathic journey after the birth of my fourth child. I was exhausted, gaining weight, experiencing low moods and had difficulties with memory and cognition which felt like they were becoming worse by the day. I was diagnosed with an under-active thyroid and put on medication. My weight started to normalise, but the low moods and memory problems were still there. I felt that traditional medicine had taken me as far as it could. My quest for better health started with further investigation and private testing, and I discovered I had Hashimoto's Disease, an autoimmune disease. 12 months after receiving my diagnosis, my husband learnt he had the debilitating condition, Rheumatoid Arthritis – another autoimmune disease. Through my guidance and his determination, he is now living free from any joint pain and medication. His rheumatoid factor and inflammation markers are now normal. I wanted to understand why we were experiencing such disorders and set about finding out as much as I could about functional medicine, enrolling on a 3-year course at a renowned college of naturopathic medicine. Here I received a Distinction in both Bio-Medicine and Naturopathic Nutrition. Having healed myself and husband, my mission now is to help others heal too. As a fully qualified naturopathic nutritionist, I’m thrilled to be able to help so many people on their journey back to health. It brings me enormous satisfaction to unravel complex health issues and biochemistry - to get to the heart of my clients’ problems and to help support nutritional and lifestyle changes that have the ability to transform their health and wellbeing. I am always learning and keep abreast of the latest research. To that end, I am currently undertaking a post-graduate MSc in Personalised Nutrition. If you have an existing condition or a so far undiagnosed or unexplained illness and would like to discuss your needs, please get in touch.

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

A well balanced diet is essential for not only your physical but also your mental well-being. Chronic disease sows it’s seeds early. Intervention through diet and if required supplementation, can make all the difference to your outcome.
