Christina Transformational Coaching

I’m Christina, a certified, accredited Transformational Life and Career Coach with a Psychology MSc. The method I am trained in is tried and tested, and based on psychological theory and research, and extensive coaching case study analysis. I can help you: • Gain clarity and find direction • Set and achieve goals • Make big changes and important decisions • Improve confidence, resilience, effectiveness and productivity • Make progress or get 'unstuck' • Achieve your potential • Cope better with challenging situations or overcome obstacles • Manage difficult emotions or thought patterns (eg relating to anxiety or anger) • Improve relationships • Avoid burnout and improve your health, happiness and wellbeing • Find or re-find your purpose, vitality and motivation • Tap into your creativity, strengths and values This type of coaching is called 'transformational' because although we address the specific situation that you are currently working on, it is all about long-term, sustainable change from the inside-out, increasing your resilience, thinking capacity and ability to address future situations too. As a coach I am ACC accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a member of the ICF, as well as trained, mentored and assessed through observation by an ICF accredited programme to PCC level. I am also a certified Physical Intelligence Coach, and can incorporate Physical Intelligence techniques into the regular sessions or offer separate sessions. This involves helping you to understand the relationship between your physiology and how you think, act, feel and interact with the world. This offers an additional, complementary, way to get to the things on that list above, and you can also learn how to cultivate particular physiological states that support your goals. I was trained in coaching and counselling skills around 10 years ago and used these skills extensively in my work, particularly in my community development work, where I supported people to overcome immense practical and emotional barriers to achieve amazing things for themselves and their community. I am very much driven by the social impact of my work and particularly drawn to ‘Changemakers, Adventurers and Dreamers’.

What do you love most about your job?

These are 4 things that I love:
1. It's intellectually satisfying to apply all the theory that I learn about psychology and coaching to real people and their real lives, and see how effective it is
2. It gives me the ability to see the best in people. As a coach I have the best seat in the house to see beyond the 'stuff and baggage' that we all lug around with us. I get to peek into the mind and heart of the person in front of me. And without fail, I like what I find there. Every single session, I feel genuine respect, admiration, warmth and fondness for my clients. Coaches have this special privilege.
3. It is extremely satisfying to see, visibly, the difference that is being made to my clients right there in the session - huge weights lifted and confusion cleared away, and to hear them tell me how differerent they feel. Then hearing about what changed in their lives afterwards and over a period of time is very rewarding. For example one of my clients was just holding on until retirement and wanted my help to get through it. In the end he was able to transform his way of being so much that not only did he change his mind about retirement and instead was taking on more responsibility and actually excited to go to work in the morning, but he was able to relaunch his passion project, he was sleeping better at night and his relationships improved. Although the credit is all his for the changes he made for himself, of course I feel honoured to have a role in facilitating it.
4. As a bonus, very often the transformation that occurs through 1:1 coaching is beneficial not just for the individual client, but for the people around them and the causes they champion. Knowing that I have been part of a ripple effect where my clients are able to go out and make a positive difference in the world is hugely rewarding!

What inspired you to start your own business?

When I started my business I was living in Thailand with my young family. I like the flexibility because I can set my available hours around other priorities - eg my children. I am also very creative and I like the freedom to follow projects that inspire me. Another reason is that I like being able to choose my coaching method. I am very happily trained and assessed to PCC level in the Awareness Accountability Choice method which I find very effective, and I incorporate embodied approaches as appropriate, as well as increasingly using other techniques from Physical Intelligence coaching, which I am also certifed in.

Why should our clients choose you?

It is really important to me that I do my best for you. So I am constantly updating my knowledge of psychology, wellbeing and coaching, and I attend regular coaching CPDs, including observing master coaching demonstrations and taking part in the analysis and discussions afterwards. I also prepare myself and ensure that for the duration of the coaching session I am entirely present. I don't compare your story to anyone else's, or my own experience, or use a list of pre-formed questions. Instead I put my efforts into top-notch listening and observations, in order to form questions that are designed to help you move forward. In fact one of the things that people most often mention is how amazing it feels to be actually, genuinely, completely listened to - it's so rare in normal life! People are also often amazed that these answers that are so transformative come from themselves - and this is a big part of why this method is so transformative and the changes long-lasting. Nobody knows the ins and outs and nuances and intricacies of you and your situation better than you, so the best thing I can do is to coach you to make the powerful insights yourself - and help you to understand how you did it too so that you can do it again in the future.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
