The commercial team advises owners, directors, in-house counsel and senior employees. All of our solicitors share the same common goal; to help any client business run as efficiently as possible. We have extensive experience across all areas of commercial law including logistics, agency, distribution, sales and marketing, manufacturing and franchising, outsourcing and offshoring, e-commerce, licensing and sales. Our commercial team combines sector and technical knowledge and expertise with the ability to craft innovative contractual solutions. Alston Asquith’s lawyers possess an astute understanding of the law and have the attention to detail to prepare and assess any form of commercial agreement. We operate across a broad number of sectors and advise companies on how to consistently make the right decisions to maximise their advantage and avoid risk. Whatever the scale and scope of the contract, our lawyers’ solutions will be realistic and effective. CORPORATE: Our Corporate team comprises lawyers who are natural dealmakers, problem solvers, and strategic thinkers. We advise entrepreneurs, company directors, investors and private equity funds on transactions that protect, increase and help them to realise value for their businesses. Whether you are buying, selling, starting or investing in a company, how the transaction is structured has enormous implications in both the short and the long term. Clever transactions minimise your risk and maximise your return. It is important to us that you get the most out of your deals and our approach is positive, transparent and tailored to your needs. We can provide practical corporate legal advice to help you set-up a new business, acquire or invest in an existing business, or sell your established business. We have acted for buyers, sellers and investors in a broad range of sectors. Our wide experience means we can offer valuable insights into the potential ‘drivers’ of the other parties. This allows us to anticipate some of the issues that may be faced during the course of a deal so we can maximise the value of your transactions, whilst minimising associated risks. DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Alston Asquith’s commercial disputes practice advises on all aspects of dispute resolution, with a particular focus on ownership, exploitation and infringement of intellectual property rights and commercial disputes in the technology sector. Our global dispute resolution and litigation teams are frequently instructed to deal with complex commercial and technology disputes and all of our lawyers are skilled in litigation, arbitration, investigations and alternative dispute resolution and will deploy that experience to help our clients to devise the best strategies suited for their individual needs. We help clients through the lifecycle of transactions, in particular at an early stage, on how to avoid getting into disputes. When disputes arise, we guide clients through pre-contentious negotiations and help them choose the best dispute resolution option. We begin every potential claim with a full strategic review. This involves an in-depth cost, risk, benefit analysis of the claim, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the case in detail before we would proceed. It is core to our philosophy that we only expect you to pay for what you value so finding out what you value is our starting point. Disputes should only end up in court if you decide that they should, so we offer alternative ways to get the result you want. Moreover, our proprietary cost-estimating and project management software allows transparency and predictability in our work execution against budget. Dispute Resolution Expertise Agency disputes Arbitration Banking and finance litigation Breach of fiduciary duties Contract disputes Commercial litigation Debt recovery Defamation Director’s duties Franchising disputes Fraud and asset recovery Insurance claims Intellectual property Injunctions IT and telecoms Mediation Partnerships and LLPs Professional negligence Product liability Taxation DATA PROTECTION: Every business needs an efficient information management system to operate effectively. Rigorous data protection laws, plus increasing regulatory and commercial pressure means that a clear understanding of the storage and use of information is fundamentally essential. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in May 2018, alongside a new regulation on ePrivacy, and all UK entities must understand the implications and comply with the rules if they provide goods, services or market to citizens of the European Union. This will continue to apply after the UK leaves the European Union. Our team can also advise on employment, corporate and commercial law and civil litigation matters. Why us? Authoritative: We do not simply advise on immigration law; we actively shape it. Having established a reputation for creativity, professionalism, and being forward-thinking in our work, OTS Solicitors has become a preferred UK immigration solicitors firm. And having made frequent contributions on immigration matters, we are an authority for many TV, radio and newspaper organisations. Our immigration solicitors have made frequent appearances on BBC One, BBC News, TalkRadio, Share Radio, Premier Radio, The Wall Street Journal, i-ASiA Magazine, The American Magazine, and we are currently working with documentary makers for Sky1 and Channel 4. In addition, our heads of department have been recommended in the Legal 500 directory and are accredited by the Law Society as trusted specialists in immigration law. Our team: We invest heavily in attracting the sharpest minds to work for our firm. Former immigration judge, Paul Gulbenkian is one of the country’s foremost figures in immigration law, advising high-net-worth individuals and international figures in politics, the arts and entertainment, on immigration matters. Our managing partner, Teni Shahiean has been ranked in the Legal 500 for her work as an immigration solicitor and has been highly accredited by the Law Society for her expertise. Specialisation: OTS Solicitors is London's leading immigration law, employment law, corporate law and litigation law firm. Concentrating on these core areas has enabled us to maintain in-depth expertise in each area of legal practice. Specialisation also grants us the opportunity to get to know our clients on a deeper level and anticipate their legal and business needs. Results: Over 99% of applications, such as for Permanent residency that we have submitted on behalf of clients to UK Visa and immigration are successful. Our high success rates also relate to submissions for Tier 1 Entrepreneur and Investor Visas, Indefinite Leave to Remain, Human Rights and Asylum, Tier 2 visa applications and family visas. Our EU Permanent Resident Card applications are highly successful, despite recent reports of up to 28% being rejected by the Home Office for certain individuals. Our specialisation and expertise allows us to provide creative solutions to our clients’ immigration problems, especially when they fall outside of the Immigration Rules. Relationships: We partner closely with our business law immigration clients, supporting them not only with their application but with hiring talent, investing funds and complying with the duties and responsibilities of a Sponsor Licence. For example, we recently helped an international bank’s London branch to obtain a Sponsor Licence to enable recruitment of talent from an international office. We maintain close contact with this client, ensuring they are kept up to date with changes that could affect their compliance and advising them on further recruitment strategies. Our expertise in commercial and employment law allows us to provide a seamless service to our business immigration law clients, saving them considerable time and money. In-depth knowledge: Our team thrives on solving complex immigration law issues. We have been involved in many challenging Judicial Review and appeal cases involving Human Rights issues. This provides our clients with the security of knowing that we can advise and represent them from the beginning of their matter to the end. Connections: Our partners have developed robust connections with top barristers, wealth managers, financial advisors and business coaches. These relationships help us support our clients, many of whom have few contacts in the UK, by introducing them to advisors who can assist with investing funds, growing their business and getting the legal results they desire. In addition to our connections in the UK, we have associates throughout the Middle East, China, America, Australia and South East Asia. Business focused: Our clients enjoy the benefit of a seamless legal service when they instruct us on business immigration matters. Our registered European lawyer, Dr Lusine Navasardyan, has a wealth of expertise in commercial law and business immigration and in tandem with her Supervisor Najma Ali and the partners is a key driver of improving immigration law in the UK. We understand business and are committed to partnering with you long-term to help you achieve your commercial ambitions. Personal: We believe our business begins and ends with our clients. Our team is committed to providing the same exceptional service to everyone who contacts us, whether they are a multi-national company or an individual seeking entry into the UK. Having this attitude provides our clients with confidence that their personal and/or commercial legal matters are in the hands of a firm that addresses their unique needs and challenges rather than simply providing one-size-fits all immigration law advice. Our Story: After spending many years gaining experience and expertise in large London legal firms, founders Teni Shahiean and Oshin Shahiean set up OTS Solicitors in 2014. Alongside former immigration judge, Paul Gulbenkian they have successfully established a boutique law firm whose values of compliance, client service and legal excellence are well and truly entrenched. Through our global connections, we can provide both private client and commercial service in jurisdictions such as Australia, Armenia, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, North Africa, Middle East and China. With members trained in Lexcel Practice Management Standards and Client Care, OTS Solicitors has tailored these standards, so they impact every corner of our operation. This ensures our clients receive optimal service, satisfaction and value for money. Teni, Oshin and Paul have worked together for many years. This allows them to draw on each other's expertise when advising on matters providing exceptional, personalised service to every one of the firm's clients, no matter what their size or budget. Our Place in the Community: All our solicitors are committed to providing pro bono legal advice, services and advocacy within the wider community.

Any additional details?

I have done the following: - contacted HR in the borough who provided the negative verbal reference. They have advised they have no role - directly contacted the manager who provided the verbal reference to alert them of the withdrawal of employment for me and loss of earnings. I have requested a full transcript of the discussion, reasons why this differs from the written reference and a subject to access request. I have provided a 5 day response request. No formal probation was in place, no full discussions for any concerns for me were held, no formal or informal warnings, no capability or disciplinary. HR never became involved. - contacted the borough who offered me the job to gain a full transcript of the verbal conversation and reasons for wits drawing the job offer despite positive interview and really positive reference from past borough where I worked for 6 years. - asked for a meeting with the borough who withdrew the job offer - drafted a letter of complaint to director at borough who provided negative verbal reference
