Consultation in respect of receiving a bad verbal reference.<br /> No consent for this was provided.<br /> It resulted in withdrawal of job offer<br /> Differed from written reference previously provided<br /> I was not advised by the person they would be providing a negative verbal reference

I have done the following: - contacted HR in the borough who provided the negative verbal reference. They have advised they have no role - directly contacted the manager who provided the verbal reference to alert them of the withdrawal of employment for me and loss of earnings. I have requested a full transcript of the discussion, reasons why this differs from the written reference and a subject to access request. I have provided a 5 day response request. I only worked at this borough for 3 months and was ostracised, overly criticised. No formal probation was in place, no full discussions for any concerns for me were held, no formal or informal warnings, no capability or disciplinary. HR never became involved. - contacted the borough who offered me the job to gain a full transcript of the verbal conversation and reasons for wits drawing the job offer despite positive interview and really positive reference from past borough where I worked for 6 years. - asked for a meeting with the borough who withdrew the job offer - drafted a letter of complaint to director at borough who provided negative verbal reference
