She uses her intuition as well as her training to explore how spaces will get used and how to display them to their best advantage. I enjoyed working with Joyce and learned a lot from her during our project to refurbise a small grade 2 listed townhouse. Her knowledge of colour and lighting solutions were invaluable, and she had lots of ideas of where to source particular items. She took care and attention to ensure the big ticket items were right. Great workshop, I brought a friend for her birthday present and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! You get to bring your own fabric and within two hours turn that bit of fabric into a professionally finished lampshade :D Although I did every bit of it myself Hannah was very attentive and gave good clear instructions. I would definitely recommend the workshop!

We start each project by producing a set of drawings of the existing layout of a space. We do this by working with a surveyor, or by using detailed dimensions that you provide us with. We arrange a (digital) meeting with each client, to discuss your needs and aspirations for your space. Having heard from you what you want to achieve we develop a design concept that sets out ideas and a strategy for the reworked space.
Some people do seek to have a designer work with them on site from the very beginning of a project right through to the end. However we know many others wish to be supported in developing a strong design vision early in a project, with a clear set of design intent information that helps them take that design concept to a builder, to realise that vision. This is where Design Dot steps in. We offer concept ideas, produce drawings and a produce for each client produce a bespoke design book that empowers each client to go forward to undertake a project themselves with their own chosen builder or craftsperson.
