Hello, I'm Barry, and I'm not just your typical guitar teacher. With nearly two decades of playing experience under my belt, I've developed a unique approach to teaching that sets me apart from the rest. What really makes me stand out is my passion for group guitar lessons, as opposed to the traditional one-on-one format. I firmly believe that learning to play the guitar isn't just about mastering the instrument; it's also about the experience of sharing music with others and building a sense of community. That's why I've chosen to teach in groups, where my students can learn not only from me but also from their peers. This social setting adds a whole new dimension to the learning process, allowing students to inspire, motivate, and support one another. In my group guitar lessons, you'll find an environment that fosters collaboration and camaraderie. Students get the chance to jam together, exchange ideas, and learn from each other's unique perspectives. It's not just about technical skills; it's about developing a deep appreciation for music and forming lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts. My teaching style emphasizes not only the fundamentals of guitar playing but also the joy of creating music together. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced guitarist, my group lessons provide a holistic learning experience that goes beyond what you might expect from traditional one-on-one instruction. So, if you're looking for a guitar teacher who can help you grow as a musician while enjoying the journey with a supportive community, I'm here to guide you on this musical adventure.

What do you love most about your job?

I absolutely love the fact that my job is to share music with others. My whole life all I ever wanted to do was to play music and the fact that I can help others to do the same is my absolute favourite thing in the world!

What inspired you to start your own business?

My whole life I was always told that I would need to have a job to "fall back on" because music was not a viable career choice. For the longest time I was working in jobs that I had no interest in and really didn't like while gigging at weekends to keep my sanity! I eventually started teaching music to see how I got on and it was the best decision I ever made!

Why should our clients choose you?

We "play" guitar so it should be as much fun as possible! People should choose me because I am the happiest guitar teacher in the world! I really love helping people get results as soon as possible. Often times that means glossing over the boring stuff likes scales and theory as it's not necessary to get started making noise. Of course I will certainly be teaching you that at the relevant time but only when it becomes a necessity.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes absolutely! Unless you happen to be in Aberdeen in Scotland all of the services I am offering are online. You'll access the class weekly from the same Zoom link and will learn with people who are at the same stage as you are.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

When necessary I wear a mask and provide sanitiser to all clients that see me in person. For online lessons, I encourage people to do the same when they are taking part in in-person events.
