‘19 Certificate of Excellence

Over 15 years of animal related work experience along with currently being a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). Since Graduating in 2011 - BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour, I worked at a dog behaviour and training centre specialising in the behavioural consultations along with practical rehabilitation work. Since graduating from LJMU, I have completed the BIPDT course achieving 2nd Grade in August 2012. In 2015 I have also completed and passed the APBC Practical Assessment. I further my knowledge and practical skills by attending seminars on a regular basis. I don't advocate the dominant theory, which means no harsh punishments or quick fixes are used. Positive reinforcement reward based methods are used when dealing with problematic canine behaviours. Services shown below are available in the Buckshaw Village, Chorley, Leyland and the surround areas. Canine behaviour consultations: -1st home visit (approx 2 hours) -In depth report completed with strategies and advice -2nd home visit approx 4 weeks later from the 1st home visit. *Please note - no additional cost involved for having more than one dog Practical 121's: These can be either at your home or in the local area (e.g a park). The initial practical 121 would need to start at your home address to get a better understanding of you and your dog's needs. Group dog walking: Group dog walks include pick up and drop off of your dog(s). Each walk has a limit of 4 dogs. A free home visit is required prior to booking to ensure it is the right service for you and your dog. Solo dog walking: For those dogs that need to be walked on their own but still enjoy getting out of the house to get some exercise and mental stimulation. Pop in visits: For dogs that are unable to go for long walks for example due to health conditions or you'd simply prefer a pop in visit. Or for your puppy to have a mini walk/mooch outside. This provides interaction, toilet breaks, and treats and games. Puppy classes: 6 weekly puppy classes held at the Orthodox Parish Church Hall in Leyland (403 Leyland Lane, PR25 1TA). Each class lasts for 1 hour. For up to 6 puppies aged 12-20 weeks at the start of the course.

What do you love most about your job?

I love making a difference. I love seeing dogs happy as well as helping owners understand their dogs better through behaviour and training.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I like the flexibility of being able to provide the time in helping others and their dogs without having time restrictions along with knowing that I'm only representing myself.

Why should our clients choose you?

I continue with professional development by attending seminars and workshops to ensure that I'm always learning and refreshing my knowledge. I'm DBS checked and cleared, insured, and have renewed my canine first aid certificate within the last 12 months.
