Andrea was amazing and helped us with our 4 month old Westie puppy Max, who was extremely naughty, hyperactive and disobedient. After previously owning a Westie and him passing away 4 years ago, we finally decided to get another dog and thought another westie would be the perfect choice as we knew the breed so well, especially with two young children it was so important that we knew what to except!!! Unfortunately Max was completely different to what our old Westie was like and we were shocked with the difference in behaviour when we got Max. Max barked uncontrollably and would constantly bite our feet and want our attention. That’s when we got in touch with good dog. After Andrea came to see Max, only after her second visit and following all her advice, Max was like a completely different dog and I can not believe the change in him. I’ve had dogs all my life and thought I would never need a trainer to help me but Max was not what I expected and thanks to Andrea he now follows our instructions and is the loveliest affectionate dog and although we have trained him hard it’s not taken away his lovely character and personality. Highly recommend Pawfect Dogsense - we did both the private and group training sessions and I think both were invaluable. In the private sessions we were able to get tailored training for our puppy including loose lead walking, de-sensitisation and the concept of “settle” which has paid dividends as he is so good at not pulling on walks and learning he gets attention / rewarded when he is calm, which was particularly helpful as getting a puppy during lockdown restricted our ability to socialise and have people over etc until he had been with us for about 4 weeks! The group training was great for training our puppy in a stimulating environment (we have a cocker spaniel who wants to be best friends with everyone!) and getting lots of tips. Really grateful for the hard work the team put in. Training is undoubtedly one of the best investments you can make in your dog to set them up for life!

I am am animal behaviourist. I have been qualified since 2011. I qualified with Greenwich University, with an FdSc (commendation) in Applied behavioural science and welfare. I come to you complete an assessment and produce a behaviour modification plan for you to follow.
As a child, I loved exploring the Kent countryside with our dogs. As a farming family, all of our dogs had to be well-behaved, so I grew up seeing how useful it can be to train your dog. Having an obedient dog can make a huge difference, particularly when you’re out and about. With everyone leading such busy lives, it can be difficult to train your new dog while juggling work and family life. So I thought I'd learn how to pass on my experience of training and working with dogs through becoming a dog trainer.
Dogs love meeting new people, whether they come on two legs or four. Often, families may only have one dog, so they miss out on interacting with other dogs on a regular basis. What I love about my job is that I can see all the dogs who come to my school really enjoying each class. They get to make some friends while learning new skills. To them, the classes feel like fun, so they’re more likely to learn from them. It’s so rewarding seeing the enjoyment that they get out of it, as well as seeing that the owners are impressed by their dog’s progress.
Everyone loves puppies, and I love my puppy training classes. It’s great to see them learning basic skills and finding their feet. I also enjoy teaching the more advanced, technical classes, such as protection or gun dog training. These take much more discipline to teach because the dogs have to be able to react correctly to very specific commands. But that makes it all the more worthwhile when my pupils perfect these skills.
