When you have a new puppy one of the best things to do is to join a puppy training class, this is a great way of training your new puppy as well as socialising him or her with other puppies. • What to expect from a one on one dog training class - Once you’ve found your dog trainer in Kenninghall, Norfolk, you’ll book an appointment either ask them to come to your house or go to their studio. From here you will begin weekly (sometimes more often) classes to train your dog. These classes will start with simple behaviour modification techniques to help ease your dog into some new training techniques. You will learn how to become assertive over your dog using tone of voice and body language, allowing you to work towards a more positive relationship with your animal.
  • What to expect from puppy training classes in Kenninghall, Norfolk - Training your puppy is often a lot easier said than done! One of the first steps to training your puppy will be learning how to housebreak them so that they don’t go to the loo inside. The best way to do this is to use puppy training pads to help ease your puppy outside with positive reinforcement. Once they’ve mastered this, you can take them to puppy training classes to help them socialise with other dogs. Here you will learn basic commands, recall and lead behaviour.
  • So find puppy or dog training classes with Bark today, fast, free and easy.

Connors Legacy Dog Behaviourist

Connors Legacy Dog Behaviourist

If I was to ask you have you ever seen a dog stroke another dog? Or how would your dog ask you a question? Stroking a dog is one of the biggest causes of behavioural concerns in dogs today, many still believe that a wagging tail is an indication of a happy dog. This is not the case! Stroking a dog to try to calm them will only confuse the dog and cause the dog to believe that you want them to be excited, although it is important to stroke a dog you must never stroke the head upon meeting a new dog, the correct way is from the tip of the chin to the collar. My name is Bill Gibson and although many would class me as a dog trainer, behaviourist or psychologist, I believe I train the owners more than the dogs. Offering a total understanding of your dogs language, how your dog thinks, why your dog acts as it does and how to correct any issues you feel you have with your dog which helps to prevent further problems in the future. Dogs have been a passion of mine for as far back as I dare to remember, they are truly amazing animals. I took the time to understand dogs. It's very rare that the problem is the dog. The problem is usually a communication issue between owner and dog, I help to build those bridges with understanding. I will come to your home to talk with you about what you believe to be the problem with your dog, as most issues will begin in the home and then I will help you to understand the way your dog thinks. With understanding the way your dog thinks you can then understand why they act the way they do. The retraining program will need to be undertaken by the whole family, if not then this will just make everything harder for your dog to understand and longer for your dog to re-balance itself, as there would be no consistency. We offer a total understanding of your dog, but if you are only interested in a particular training method, we offer that too. Training Programs/Services Offered: Dog Psychology And Total Understanding. Aggressive Dog Problems, Food Aggression, Dog Training, Clicker Training, Lead Training, Gentle Dog Training Methods, Dog Behavioural Issues, Guard Dog Training, Puppy Training, House Training, Pet Dog Obedience Training, Barking Problems, Fearful Dog Issues, Dog Rescue, One to One Service, Home Visits, Socalisation Walks. We are advisors to various local authorities, TV production companies, various dog rescues around the world, have been featured on BBC Essex Radio and in various local and national press. We are also a Patron of AA Dog Rescue in Latchingdon, Maldon, Essex.

Leadchanges Dog Behaviour Modification

Leadchanges Dog Behaviour Modification

Tamasine Smith BCCS.CanBhvPrac worked with horses for over twenty years and taught and studied horsemanship for around half that time. For a number of years she was also a teacher and trainer of horsemanship at her own centre, around South Africa and other countries. Often those coming to the centre would meet the resident Ridgebacks and ask if she also trained dogs – to which the answer would be “no, only horses”. However, over time, it became clear that although horses are considered prey animals and dogs predators, they actually both need the same thing when it comes to the humans in their lives – leadership and consistency given with calmness, confidence and compassion. She discovered that what she taught in horsemanship lessons: that it’s about “who we need to be more than a method of training” – also applied to dogs. This led to her taking up studies in dog behaviour and starting on a training programme for dogs. After working with a friend and colleague to create a self-development course called Inner Game (after W. Timothy Gallwey’s books) initially using horses as the teachers, it seemed that it might work just as well with dogs. It did. And so Leadchanges was born. Tamasine continues her studies, also attending workshops and gaining inspiration from others. One such group was DogsandAll in South Africa who prepare dogs for protection work and sniffer dog work including drug and bomb detection. Leadchanges then moved to Andalucia, Spain and in addition to the original workshops, grew to encompass Tamasine’s own work and work with rescue groups such as Lab Rescue (South Africa), Ridgeback Rescue (South Africa) and PEPA (Spain). This work involved fostering, rehoming, home checks and rehabilitation. In Spain, Tamasine helped a number of rescue charities, including helping to set up a new group in the Alhama area where she lived. She offered a foster carer training programme and still gives ongoing support with two of the charities. She also plans to continue fund raising for them and offer them support within the UK for any of their dogs adopted here. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Spain you can contact ASAP here and AAR here. Leadchanges is now based Kenninghall in Norfolk Tamasine alongside her behaviour work she plans to continue the type of work she has done with groups such as Lab Rescue (South Africa), Ridgeback Rescue (South Africa), PEPA, Axarquia Animal Rescue and Alhama Street Animal Protection (Spain). This work involves fostering, rehoming, home checks and rehabilitation. Tamasine’s workshops and in house rehabilitation service will continue once the facilities are set up in Kenninhall but she is still able to offer home consultations and internet support. Tamasine in particular loves helping with dog reactive dogs, shy and fearful dogs, preparing dogs for travel, working with travel worried dogs, and with people who do not necessarily thrive in group classes. Leadchanges also offers work with puppies, helping people start their dogs off in the right way, offering longer residences and day care facilities for young dogs, which involves teaching them to crate, pool safety and swimming (summer months), basic obedience and agility along with socialisation to other humans and animals. Tamasine is a keen traveller and has always found it necessary in the past to find house sitters for her dogs, because she has not wanted to subject her own beloved dogs to a closed and unloving regime while she was away. This has led her to offer, through Leadchanges, a different kind of kennelling, built on the concept of socialisation, walking and fun, allowing for a greater interaction with their human carers and access wherever possible (and appropriate) to her home, to be part of the family. Tamasine has a Practitioner Diploma in Dog Behaviour, a Canine First Aid certificate and Dog Law Certificate with the British College of Canine Studies in the UK and is also an Associate member of the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals). She has completed Level 1, 2 and 3 in Dog Scentwork with Talking Dogs Scentwork, has completed Dr Ian Dunbar's Growl course is completing Dr Dunbar's SIRIUS® dog training programme. She has attended Dr Karen Overall's Veterinary Behaviour conference, and regular attends Webinars, courses and lectures on various subjects such as noise phobia and aggression issues as part of her ongoing CPD. Tamasine is registered to attend the first UK Puppy Conference in January 2018.

You And Your Dog

You And Your Dog

You And Your Dog residential dog training was founded to help owners achieve real life results with their dogs. We specialise in behaviour modification and rehabilitation of aggressive dogs, but we also work with dogs that have severe anxiety and with fearful dogs, as well as welcoming "happy go lucky" dogs! The majority of our clients are owners who have been struggling for months, sometimes years, without getting any results. They have exhausted every other training method out there and they're still no closer to resolving the problems they have with their dog. What makes us different is that we will not only train your dog, but we will also spend a lot of time empowering you. We will help you gain the skills, the knowledge, the strategies and the confidence to live with your dog in a more balanced and harmonious way, long after the Board & Train is over. We only spend a few weeks with your dog, you are the one that will have the dog in your life for many more years to come. We see it as a partnership; You, your dog and us, we're all in it together! About us Hi guys, great to meet you! I was born in the great 70's in Gothenburg, Sweden. Dogs have been in my life since I was born and I can't imagine a life without them. My journey really started however when I took on a human and dog aggressive rottweiler in my early 20's, from a family who no longer could keep him due to them having a baby. I thought I was ready, I was quite cocky, but I was in for a ride and lesson of a life-time! What I learned from that though, was invaluable, and I still learn from every dog and every owner. Having since worked with mainly rescue dogs for the past 20 years, I have experienced most kind of dogs and their behaviour issues, so when people come to me and they feel embarrassed because they think their dog is the worst I've ever seen, or they cry because they are so very tired, stuck and frustrated, I get it... I've been there too, and it's OK, we'll move forward together! I've used and tried most training techniques out there, all from "old school" to "positive only", and what I've learnt is that there is no "one size fits all". I think all techniques, methods and tools have their time and place, and I think that a good trainer utilises them all to help the dogs they've been entrusted with, rather than asking the dogs to adapt to one method alone. I'm often asked what kind of trainer I am and I do not have an answer for that. I believe in Yes AND No. I believe in praise and reward for good behaviour, but also consequences for an unwanted or dangerous behaviour. I believe that medication to treat an unwanted behaviour should be used as a last resort. I believe that behaviour modification rather than managing a behaviour is a far better choice for both dog and owner. I also believe that death before discomfort is cruel! In this day and age, I guess you can call me "A Politically Incorrect" dog trainer :) I am a proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals

Street dog to Streetwise

Street dog to Streetwise

I'm Charlotte Leech (Bsc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare) and I've set up Street dog to Streetwise to help owners with their rescue dogs; especially foreign ex street dogs. I work closely with dogs and their owners to identify, understand and resolve behaviour and training issues. I offer pre puppy/rescue dog consultations, solo dog walking, confidence building sessions as well as socialising sessions with suitably matched dogs. I only use positive, force free training methods as I feel dogs respond well to this method of training. It helps build a strong relationship with your dog based on trust. They will choose to work with you because they want to and not because they feel they have to. I am looking to take on a few regular dog walking clients. They won't be just one of many. I will take my time to give them what they need whether that's a good run, a play or lots of sniffing! It's all about the dogs :)

K9 Classroom

K9 Classroom

Welcome to K9 Classroom. If you are looking for a professional and qualified dog trainer or walker then look no further. My love of dogs started when I was given the responsibility to look after my own dog. It was a 6 month old Dalmatian named Heidi. It was love at first sight and our four legged friends have been a huge part of my life ever since. It wasn’t long before my career as a theatrical agent in London's West End lead back to my true passion and vocation – making dogs the centre of everything I do. I began training with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Training and Behaviour under the direction of Ross McCarthy. I am currently working towards full accreditation to become a member of the Guild Of Dog Trainers as a Master Trainer. I am also a volunteer at The Blue Cross Rehoming Centre working along side the fantastic staff to rehabilitate, walk and socialise their wonderful dogs. Today, my mission is to offer my clients an incomparable service, promoting fun and constructive training methods to ensure the best possible dog-owner relationship.
