Jane Jason Counselling And Psychotherapy

I am an experienced, qualified integrative trained counsellor and psychodynamic therapist. This means I can work a number of different ways to support your needs and help you get better quickly. I am always working to fulfil this from the very first session as I ultimately see therapy as a space to be supported, feel safe , unburden ones issue, and to be able to process them , heal, and move forward with your life. I work mostly with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, grief, bereavement and relationships with self and others. But I will always be honest and tell you whether I feel I can work with you so please feel free to get in touch and we can have a brief chat before embarking on starting your therapy. I am based in North London, in Golders Green NW11, at Golders Hill Health Centre, right by Golders Green tube station and in N3, opposite Finchley Central tube station. All my locations also have plenty of parking. I am also available to have online sessions. Bereavement As well as private practise I work for a North London Bereavement Service where I see clients for up to 14 months once a week. "My sessions with Jane were an invaluable part of accepting my loss in the journey of bereavement. Jane was able to help me understand my emotions and feelings, I was often surprised by how she was able to interpret my words and emotions. The sessions were very relaxed and I always felt comfortable and not judged. I thank Jane from the bottom of my heart for helping me understand my emotions, learn how to deal with and accept the loss of my dearest darling husband, the love of my life." Short Term therapy I have also worked at a Counselling Centre in Hammersmith, where clients have been referred by their GP for 12 weeks of counselling. As a result of that I am trained to offer you and maximise within my integrative training a shorter term model, should you wish to work to 12 weeks of counselling. "I would like to register my delight at having been assigned to Jane Jason as my counsellor over the past twelve weeks. I could not have chosen a more appropriate person if I had been given a choice in the matter. From day one I was put at ease by her insightful approach to what have been on-going personal challenges  for many years.  I now have a choice as to which route to pursue, but what is as important is that I have a route." Marriage/Relationship Counselling I have a particular area of interest in this subject and work with a lot of clients experiencing relationship struggles, within themselves, others and in relationship to addiction and destructive patterns of behaviour. Marriage/Couples counselling is often a last resort when effective communication has broken down and each individual feels alone and misunderstood. Often one if not both parties have given up hope of believing their wants and needs can be met by one another.   I facilitate a mutual needs satisfaction where we look at attending to the qualities from the relationship you both individually want and building from that effective communication tools to achieve that collaboratively. Another important part of the therapy is to help you both understand how what is interpreted and heard as one thing, can have meant quite another to the partner who stated it. So I can facilitate more authenticity and connection between you both by clarifying what you both mean and understand from each other during the sessions. I would expect to see a couple for around 8 weekly sessions, followed by occasional follow ups after that should the couple require. "The counselling gives the space to talk about the problems, but it feels directional in that you come away less confused and with more understanding. It helps makes sense of what is needed and is like putting a puzzle together. You feel calmer and more able to work through the situation. Thank you Jane for your support, and helping life get much better."

What do you love most about your job?

I love helping my clients through the. therapy, move forward, heal and live a happier more fulfilling life. It is perfectly normal to feel anxious and nervous to start counselling and very often the fear of opening up is so great, that the alternative to feel stuck and remain despairing feels easier. It takes courage, and I sincerely understand this.

What inspired you to start your own business?

After training I continued my placements as a bereavement counsellor for a North London charity and also as a counsellor providing a short term therapy a Centre In Hammersmith but have been keen to work locally to provide a private service. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their code of ethics. As well as holding a Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling I also have certificates in Psychiatry, Psychopathology and Psychodynamics, Eating Disorders, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Time Limited therapy and Marriage Counselling.

Why should our clients choose you?

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy gives a person a safe space to talk through their issues and be supported and understood. My approach is genuine and committed, to be somewhere where you can unburden yourself, without judgement. It is my aim to always ensure my clients are at ease with myself, and feel I can hear whatever they may bring, and be able to support them to take steps forward with their lives. And I believe I do this by being fully aware how life can feel overwhelming and exhausting and stuck, and understand and really empathise with this. I have many references to support my work showing that through the therapy you can often see the light and get up from a very low place. Very often it is the processing of your personal issues that can help you understand and bring to your awareness what you need to help you, which the therapy facilitates.
