What do you love most about your job?

The ah-ha moments when a client recognises that the change they want to see is sometimes only a single perspective shift away, and entirely within their control.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I came into the field of coaching and personal development through decades of experience with trauma and crisis in the UK emergency services. I want to help those that want to help themselves to find a sustainable, acceptable and self-directed paths through their lives. There is also huge drive to tackle mental health issues but the treatment pathways are unable to cope with demand, coaching and personal development are closely aligned with person centred management of mental health concerns.

Why should our clients choose you?

Alec's purpose as a former first responder is to use his experience and personal understanding of the challenges he has faced to help other people overcome residual exposure to trauma and live healthy, meaningful lives. He offers a different perspective on trauma and traumatic incidents; how to cope with them, and to equip people to manage post-trauma reactivation situations.

Your DesiredState is that place in which you are able to enjoy your life as you want to experience it, free from unhelpful anchors to the past and without anxiety for the future. Living optimally, Now.
Using a combination of Modern Applied Psychology practices DesiredState offers a person-centred approach to resolving personal tensions and helping clients to attain well-formed outcomes.
