Why do people come to see me? People often see me because they are going through changes in their personal or professional lives and need confidence or help to adapt and cope with the demands of their new reality. We all have our ups and downs, the difficulty is when our conditions or the environment changes but we have trouble adapting to them. It could be changes such a promotion, demotion, redundancy or a change of career or personal relationships. We all need the ability to adapt and evolve; this is key to our survival and happiness. In their personal lives, people may become aware of things they would like to differently, have more confidence with or be more effective at, such as relationships, family and social concerns. Some people may have had a difficulty or anxiety for a long time including behavioural or emotional difficulties. Often people may be anxious or worried about certain situations in their lives. A key point is that we may over estimate a perceived threat to our well-being, self-esteem, careers or relationships. There may be a miss match between what we perceive is happening in the outside world and how we interpret the threats and demands in our inner world. We may make assumptions and inferences about others, the world, or ourselves that are unhelpful and blocking us from our aims and objectives. We all have areas in our lives that we would like to improve or where we lack confidence. We may need to make changes, move outside our comfort zones; increase our mental toughness, resilience and confidence to take on new challenges and cope more effectively with the demands of life.

As a hypnotherapist and practitioner of complementary therapy I use refining techniques to produce rapid positive change in your health and emotions. Stress Thank you for trusting me with your valuable time. What do I already know about you? That you’re probably in front of a screen somewhere  with a problem or condition that is irritating you enough to want to do something about it, but are not sure who you should go to see or whether they would be able to help you. Therapeutic Hypnosis Why would you come to see me when there are so many hypnotherapists and practitioners of complementary and alternative therapy you could choose from? Firstly, I’ve been in practice a long time. Moreover, treatments are often even more powerful when used in combination. For example, with weight loss there are usually dietary and metabolic issues which need to be addressed, as well as the emotional and psychological factors. Many hypnotherapists do not take these into account. I work as rapidly as I can, though obviously it depends on the person I’m working with at the time. I don’t keep clients hanging on or stretch treatment out longer than necessary. Effective hypnotherapy Secondly, and most importantly, you might choose to come to see me because you’re getting a broad therapeutic approach. Very few people study more than one of the ‘big’ alternative treatments such as hypnotherapy, philosophical practice, CBT, and logotherapy.  How does that help you? It’s more efficient, both in time and value. It means I can see your health from a variety of angles and choose the treatment or combination of treatments that will probably work best for you and produce the most powerful results in the shortest time. If you don’t know what’s causing a problem it’s often much more difficult to treat. Being able to eliminate possible causes and pinpoint others gives you the greatest chance of success. Encouraging, enthusiastic, entertaining hypnotherapy Treatment works better when accompanied by a positive attitude, so I do whatever I can to help you enjoy the experience. You receive my full and warmest attention. Safe hypnotherapy Hypnosis, contrary to popular belief, is a gentle, pleasant and natural state. Make an informed decision By the end of this page I hope you will have decided to email me or speak to me on the phone. Ultimately, whether you see me or someone else, you will be dealing with a real person. The sooner you get to the next stage, the closer you will be to having your problem solved. You will know from a quick email or a couple of minutes of conversation whether I can provide precisely what you need. Usually I can, but even if I can’t I might be able to suggest somebody or another form of treatment which would help deal with your problem. You might already be on your way to changing your life as you’d like to. You will be in a much better position to make an informed decision. More information about you I need to know a little more about you so I can better understand you and your situation, and if you do then decide to come and see me, not only will it mean we can get down to work sooner, but also that you will already have begun to trust me and feel reassured so you can really relax and enjoy the process. I would much rather deal with your issues within one or two sessions if I possibly can, so that you’re very happy about the experience and feel that you have got excellent value. I’d be honoured to be given the chance to exceed your expectations. Where will you come to see me? Usually at my Therapy Rooms in Heaton. Most of my clients prefer evening appointments, otherwise afternoon sessions are also possible, and I can be flexible to accommodate other days and times where necessary, so feel free to ask. How long will it take to deal with your problem(s)? Hypnotherapy (for pain and short-term conditions) are fast-acting and can get a result pretty rapidly surprisingly often, but please don’t expect it. Come for the first session and reassess. As I said above, I don’t keep clients hanging on for no good reason. If it’s a longer-term problem, we can discuss how to structure it to minimise your costs and number of sessions. “I’ve tried hypnosis before and it didn’t work”. There are many different approaches with each of this technique. I often get positive results using exactly the same techniques that didn’t work previously when a client has visited other practitioners.
