I was head of our company which was based in Epsom surrey for 41 years and then in 2020 i moved to dorset to take it easier and passed the reigns over to the eldest of my three sons who along with the rest of the team have kept up the superb quality of work we were known for , for many years . We are one, of only a handful of , if not the oldest member in checkatrade and have awards for our long standing membership and quality .I personally am a fully qualified electrician and plumber and have installed thousands of bathrooms and kitchens over my working life . I work with and install mobility bathroom products to enable customers who have issues with mobility to achieve their bathing independence again . I have never set out to beat all the competition and be the cheapest out there but i have always priced the work fairly on what's required and looked after anyone that put their trust in our company . Now i am here in dorset, i am the South West branch of the company you may say, but i am totally independent from our Epsom location and i work with my youngest son who is a qualified plasterer . All i can say is that i have a considerable amount of experience and have never had an issue with any customer due to the lengths we go to keep all parties informed throughout the project at hand regardless if its a bathroom alteration , kitchen refurbishment or electrical work that required .
people - i am a people person and love a good chat to hear other peoples life experiences . Theres nothing more satisfying to me than when you finish an installation and have transformed the bathroom or kitchen from what it once was and you can see the delight in the customers face . I have been stopped many times in the street by past customers when i was living in Epsom to be told that they love their bathroom or kitchen
I was continuously being told i should go self employed and start my own company and then one day in 1990 i did just that and never looked back , Sure its hard work and alot longer hours and sometimes you wonder why you did it but for me it was all about being flexible . I remember a past employer going mad at me one morning as i was 12 minutes late , even though i had worked late the night before it meant my vehicle was last to get out of the yard and i would be stuck there for 45minutes i agreed to work through my lunch to make up the time but all he was fixated on was the 12minutes i was late . Not the 1.5 hours i stayed late the night before helping them out which is why i was always flexible with the guys i had working for me . You have to realise that everyone has a life and sometimes that life can get in the way of work but we had /have a good team and they would always make up any time and try not to inconvenience a customer which i was proud about .
we may not be the cheapest quote and there again we may but i set out to price each job based on whats required in terms of amount of work and degree of difficulty . We dont do what some companies do and inflate their prices so that when you question the cost they offer you a fictitious discount .We dont tell you we'll undercut the opposition but if we have done then great .We dont lie to you about work needed to be done or has been done just to get more money believe me i have heard all the tricks and scams and that is not how we do business . We price it honestly and fairly thats it , If you want it cheaper then fine - what dont you want us to do because thats the bottom line really . I am not in it to get rich but just cover my bills like the rest of the normal people

we no longer accept and food or drink and request that if they have any health issues to let us know before hand and we can take the appropriate steps to ensure that they are kept safe and well and we sanitise all areas where they are likely to go where we have been
