The Strength Physio

Hi There, Thank you for stopping by my Bark page. Let me tell you what I'm about that way, you can see if I'm suitable for you, and your health and fitness goals? I'm Lee, and my primary role in life is as a Physiotherapist/Researcher. However, I'm also a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Fitness Development Coach passionate about exercise, movement, and good lifestyle habits. I get excited when I get the chance to help people move, feel better, and ultimately get stronger, tone, and shape. I like to incorporate Strength and Conditioning principles within my individualised fitness development programs. Not only is the program individualised, but based on where you are at that time of your fitness/movement assessment. What does that mean for you? Depending on the client's situation, you only get to start a program after seeing how you move and function via a 'movement assessment' conducted remotely or in person. I have a fully stocked gym at my home; you may have a gym at yours. Ultimately, the decision is yours. A quick note: What may not be a 'wise action' is to start your health and wellbeing journey, having not exercised consistently for a while. Furthermore, perhaps you've been doing exercise for a period but keep experiencing the odd niggle or lack motivation due to not seeing results. You may have questions about nutrition or what foods to eat, sleep, and hydration. This is where an individualised program comes in by assessing your movement, lifestyle, and habits. I bring the pieces of your puzzle together, so you get the right advice and guidance that is right for you, your health and your fitness goals. Does this sound like it would benefit you? Do you have niggles that you wish to manage or eliminate? Do some of your habits not align with your health and fitness goals? Are you keen to find a program, stick with it, and be motivated to see it through? Then I may be able to help. Yours in health Lee

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I love being a Physiotherapist, and I love to incorporate strength and conditioning principles in all the training programs I give to my clients. These are a combination of bodyweight (calisthenics), weights and aerobic exercise to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. This all happens after we see how you move and function by performing a movement assessment. By doing this, we then can give you a program that aligns with your health and fitness goals.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

This is a great question. I hope by now that if you've been looking at getting fit, toned or in shape or just have better habits for some time, you know that there are no short cuts. What the body of your dreams looks like is different for everyone. It all depends on your goals, and where you see yourself. There is a process, it has highs and lows, but once you start to see changes, you start to see your goals being realised, then who knows where it will end. I like to think that 80% of hard work gives you 20% of the results. In other words, a dream body is only 20% of what someone sees, no one sees the 80% of hard graft you put in to get it like that. It's what you see that counts the most!

What do you love most about your job?

When someone comes to me, furlorn, at the end of their tether and just wants to give up, this to me is where the magic happens. Just some simple words of encouragement, a small tweak to some of your habits, and an individualised program that aligns with your health and fitness goals will make all the difference. Maybe not straight away, it may take a few weeks, but ultimately together we can get you on the right road to brighter days. Seeing people move better, smile and live long and prosper is what I most like about my job.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Look around the internet, there is so much information and advice out there to most people it is probably overwhelming! I pride myself that within my profession and as a fitness professional I stand for simple straight forward, helpful advice. If you ask me a question, I will give you the best answer I have. This will be based on the evidence, my experience and what you are trying to achieve in your health and fitness goals.

Why should our clients choose you?

I've been involved in sport, fitness and health-based activities for as long as I can remember. I'm an ex-soldier (14 years), I've worked in professional sport, private practice, coached sportsmen and women alike, and even spent time in front-line NHS services.
I love my job, I love helping people move and feel better along with providing advice and guidance on achieving better lifestyle habits. I offer an individualised program that is based on a prior movement assessment, you have a program that is done for you on a platform that you access from your phone or tablet. There are exercises with video demonstrations, sets, reps and rest are all built-in. Couple that with weekly follow-up video calls to make sure that you are achieving, this keeps you accountable and shows you I have your back.
